Planning for Roots Hall.

They should already be digesting it. Should have been since shortly before the meeting in December. If they haven't been then they're ****ing idiots.

I think that's a bit harsh. Certainly the members that are on the DCC will have digested it, but the others will have been dealing with the items on their own committee agendas and (let's be honest) their day jobs.

They'll only really look at it when it is on the agenda, and when the documentation (I suspect in summarised form) is presented to them as part of the supporting documentation for the meeting.

Don't hold your breath. Took a client of ours a year just to get permission from SBC for a rear extension on there house.

Ah but did the council stand to make a lot of money from that rear extension?

I think they'll be looking to move quickly on this one given the financial benefits for them.

Funny how the council want to move quickly only now they have a financial benefit isn't it? The support they give to their local football club is a disgrace.

It's the way the world works unfortunately. Most of them support w*** h**

As we know for a fact, their own Seaway project was rushed through in record time for them. Now they are debating the ins and outs after the vote.

I firmly believe that was to scupper the cinema idea at FF. Plus it has allowed the council to solve part of their new homes head ache as well.

London Councils are always actively looking for properties to rent for their tenants. I am quite sure that if Southend can't fill these properties for itself, then our London Councils will willingly take up the shortfall.
And just watch the crime rate go sky high. We seem to have been the dumping ground for the London borough ne’er-do-wells in recent years.

Just take Rochford for example, when they built the estate just off of Hall Road many of the homes were bought by the likes of Newham and Dagenham councils. Burglaries and drug dealing is now a big problem. Just hope they have learnt something when they allocate the homes in the RH development.

I would imagine that the Fossets Farm estate will also get sold to the highest bidder as London boroughs continue their gentrification.

Yes those London children have picked up all the local habits with impressive speed.

Benfleet is a prime example, petty crime - burglaries, drugs, car theft etc gone massively uphill in the last 10 - 15 years.

Very sad. 43 years ago we lived on the High Rd, by the corner of Green Rd. Never had any of those problems then. Mind you, possibly because we lived nigh on opp the old Police Station!.

That's been demolished in the last few years and they're currently building flats on it. Used to be a busy police station.

Our police station in Rochford was closed-down 9-10 years ago, eventually sold in 2017, and in process of being converted into residential. There’s no local police presence nowadays, have to contact Rayleigh station who’s response time is lousy at best.

Rayleigh is only a base for traffic cops now and has no front desk even. Another round of applause to Mrs May for this situation

The last Weston Homes bloke of flats in Fairfax Drive is being occupied; and, imo, the builders have done a very good job in design, build and finish.
If R H is done similarly then it ought to be a development of benefit to this town and residents AND a huge improvement over the likes of the Kursall type estate.

If they then carry on and build on the whole of FF with housing and move the stadium to the Queensway estate.......That would improve the town much further.

Now that wouldn’t be a bad idea having it located centrally and with easy access to all whether on foot, car, public transport etc however, can’t see the council agreeing to anything they haven’t already.

If Football was honest it would admit that moving grounds out of the town is a long term disaster. From Col U to Bolton they are all mistakes

So what if you have a shiny new stadium, it would be better if it’s the heart beat of the town.....with two mainlines pulling in within short walking distance it would breath life into the High Street and solve the road problems around FF.

For away fans it would be at least an all dayer if not a weekender So the Hotel option would be very much back on and a great place for a business hub/conference/training venue.....Mono rail Direct to the airport?

But your right no one in the local council has the vision or the will to make our town a must visit place for the millions of London tourists less than an hour away.

When are we expecting the next stage to take place at the council?

I believe it was scheduled for the end of Feb and has been delayed until April.

Tbh I'm so bored of the long and sorry saga that is Sufc relocation.

It's taken so long that essentially the club will have gone from a top league 1 side to non league trap door and still being driven into the ground by a sheister chairman
