I wonder what part, if any, Woodyard, Stevens, Smith and Nesbitt will play within the first team this season.

Good young players but may find first team action tough to come by this year.

Seen alot of photos of Stevens though in the pre season

I think their role will be loaned out!

Nesbitt could play a role as reserve left-back but the others are all central midfielders who I can't imagine breaking into the team with the midfielders we already have. Would like to see them loaned out, as well as Asante if we sign another striker or keep Paterson.

Be great to get them involved with the likes of braintree town etc. They are only one level below us now and these kids could have a great chance of being involved at a level that will test them .

I agree with Shrimpboy. I can see Nesbitt picking up the odd game at left back due to a short term injury or suspension to Gilbert. Out for any length of time and I think we'll get a loanee in or move Barker there. I think all the other lads are best served getting their corners knocked off on loan at non league clubs, playing in competetive games that mean something. Learning what a win bonus is all about will do them much more good than playing in any reserve league.

I wonder if this SUFC XI game against them will double up as a trial for the youngsters to get a loan to Braintree.

Yeah, Braintree will be knocking on our door, to ask for our young players for loans as they are the club with small squad of 18 players & the standard of the conference is on a par as top 15 of League 2 - the bottom 9 would struggle in the Conference or maybe sneak into the play off.
