On football mail site Matin says" Paul has to get 6 points from next 2 games or will be sacked" i have no sentiment and will dismiss him before the cup final- seems a little mouthy to me !!!!

Maybe if Ron Martin managed his funds better to allow Paul to get players in to cover the horrendous injury list we have rather then keep sending us into an embargo, we would get 6 points.

RM needs to shut the **** up

Is that fair. We have Smith, Barker, Cresswell, Phillips. Timlin, Laird, Harris, Freddy and Corr all of which must be on decent money given there experience. We have had decent loaness of late too notably Tam. RM did back PS in the last transfer windown when we needed him too (Dave Martin, Benyon, Baldwin) etc. He did the same this window to a lesser degree.

I am no RM fan but I dont know if you can really say he hasnt backed PS - The real issue I think has been poor allocation of the money given to him (Four strikers Fred, Harris, Corr and Benyon all on good money that never play while we play a loannee for example).

Yes it's very fair. RM has no business saying PS will get the sack if he doesn't delivery 6 points. RM had the money to pay the HMRC but waits till the last minute possible, inducing an embargo which stops us getting the likes of Tam back.

I can't see him sacking PS before the big day. As I've previously said I can see him standing down (or being forced to resign) after Wembley.

Do you really think he is going to put that sound bite out. That site is about as unreliable as it gets.

Can see that too, "mutual agreement" or whatever PC bollocks they use. Then give Coughlan the job until the end of the season, hopefully playing a few players who haven't had much game time and maybe a couple of youngsters who have earnt their chance.

Anyway, this Matin bloke (whoever he is) has no right to sack Sturrock anyway ....

Does anyone honestly think that RM would openly and on record say anything even remotely like that? Come on people, use a modicum of common sense please. Biggest load of bull I've heard in a long time

I thought those words were banned on here?

Worst copper in Essex. He nicked me for jaywalking whilst paddling.

Here it is in all it's glory on the football rumours site. Total bollocks of course.

Southend United Chairman Ron Martin is seeting with anger following defeat at home to AFC Wimbledon last night - the first of three home games against relegation threatened opposition. Anything less than a full return of 6 points from the next two games will see Paul Sturrock unceremoniously sacked in advance of the Wembley visit for the JPT Final. Martin feels no sentiment to Sturrock who was given an improved contract by a former CEO. Martin would have preferred Sturrock's existing contract to have remained in place.

I think it's bollocks but they did have a 90 min meeting after the loss on Tuesday.
