Mate, we can't all like the same things! You know me, I'm hardly the fashion following type am I...the only tags on my clothes are £5 from Next sale!

I love Bowie pre about 1980's...but never got Queen, as I never got Only Fools.... I never got supporting Liverpool as a kid in the 1980's on Man Utd in the 1990s as I stuck with my little team.

Each to their own fella and Vive La Difference!

Very True !!

And I don't like Queen despite loads of people trying to convince me that they are good. The same applies to Sgt Peppers and beyond Beatles, Pink Floyd, Post Tourist Annie Lennox , Post Jam Weller etc etc

I agree with all of them (except Queen and Annie Lennox who is a Goddess in her own right ) , Pink floyd have alwasy been over inflated tosh (IMHO) who took themsleves far to seriously

My kids were brought up on my music too. Now they in their 20's they recommend bands to me because they like them and they know what sort of stuff still stirs my soul. Hence , off to see the Rifles with my Daughter in November (if the tickets ever arrive !!) .

A few years ago Mrs FS and I went on Holiday for a few weeks leaving the 16 year old Son at home. A few hours after arriving back my Son came up to me we a very serious face and said "Dad , I don't know how to break this to you" I obviously looked stunned and he continued "look, I'm really sorry but....."

floyd are the bollocks mate,lyrics which mean stuff,superbly played by people who can realy play their instruments.

waters lyrics regarding the bombing at the mall are very profound.


you can relax on both sides of the tracks
and maniacs dont blow holes in bandsmen by remote control.
 
My Dad saw Queen as a support bad at the Cliffs years and years ago. His obsession with Queen spured on young Ricey to love Queen. I actually admit I cried when it came on the new that Freddie had died :( . Gutted about missing the Queen and Paul Rodgers gig. I only realised they were on tour last night with the big poster outside Wembley Stadium. The only chance I have of getting tickets is if I pay over the odds on eBay. :( But the 7th is a little close to the nipper popping out to say hello. So I am afraid this is a miss for Ricey.

Would love to see them even with Paul Rodgers, just to hear Brian May's amazing guitar riffs. Brian May has an amazing voice too and Roger Taylor sounds like Rod Stewart anyone else agree?

It was a lot to do with my dad as well, not the Queen appreciation but bands like The Moody Blues, David Bowie, The Who, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.....when it is played at home all the time and in the car you grow in to it
