Quote[/b] (Smiffy @ April 27 2006,09:39)]How about a lottery syndicate that benefits the website financially...

Members of the site lay down say a £2 stake which is fixed every week (via paypal etc) which obviously means work for you mods to make that possible using this website...anyway, the money is then used to purchase as many lucky dips as possible, any winnings that result from this are then shared equally amongst the punters....

But, here is the beneficial bit for Shrimperzone Ltd...

A minimum returns cap is put in place, which is decided weekly, by the amount of punters that have parted with their hard earned...

For example say 100 members have put in their £2 for that week, then for the punters to get a decent return (im thinking £50 each) we would have to scoop £5000 for that particular week...

Any prize less than the £5000 (or £50 minimum returns cap, depending on number of entrants) goes into the Shrimperzone Ltd kitty....

Obviously you mods can decide on what you think would be a decent minimum returns cap, I was just thinking £50 would be a good figure to start at, anything less than a £50 win I personally wouldnt be that bothered about, although I wouldn't say no of course!... but the cap can be decided by a vote across this board...

Apologies if I haven't explained this idea a bit more clearly, getting ideas from my brain on to paper (or websites) isn't one of my plus points!!...

Thoughts?...

Hmmm - you mean something like the 100 Club the Trust run

I suppose so Beaver, but this way there is the potential for an even greater return for Shrimperzone Ltd..

Have you considered establishing a link with a hardcore xxx porn site.

That way I could get both my reasons for logging onto the into net from the same site

Dave , as we get children and adults of a nervous disposition on here that is not an option.
I had to delete a very good topic after Saturday's game as the picture , although brilliant , was sited on a gallery site that had a porn-site advert complete with interesting pictures round the border.
One of our members , quite rightly, was not impressed when her children spotted it.

How about Shrimperzone T-Shirts that come printed with your user name across the back?

Actually, after some of the things I've written about on this website, perhaps I could do with keeping myself anonymous...

No we've hit the 1500 mark in terms of members will you be looking at working out which accounts are still active and closing down IDs that are no longer in use, so we can get an idea of how popular this board really is.

Also can it be easier to request changes to usernames etc without losing posting stats? Obviously can be done e.g. W4 Shrimper to Uxbridge Shrimper!!!

It's very difficult to change someone's username. Easier to set up a new account from scratchand then for the new one to be attributed with your old post count, pips, etc.

For advertising I aim to have Shrimperzone.com limited tattoed down the length of my tadger. Hmm on 2nd thoughts better make that Shrimperzone. Actually after reviewing my member best just stick to SZ.
