He's out as of today!
Nile Ranger was this morning released from Pentonville Prison after serving a little over 10 weeks.
Nile was eligible for early release under the HDC (Home Detention Curfew) Scheme, due to the short duration of his sentence and his consistently excellent custodial behaviour. Nile may regard himself as fortunate but will remain under an evening home curfew for the next 5 to 6 weeks.
However, this will enable him to resume training immediately and Nile Ranger is today undergoing a fitness test and assessment that will help steer his training regime over the next 7 to 10 days before he re-joins the squad

we all know it's rioalderton2!
Hope this shuts up some of the people on here!
How many chances in life does this guy want! Everywhere he goes he's a pain in the back side. Thousands of homeless people on the street who (not all) are so, because of some sort of misfortune in there lives, yet I bet half would give there right arm to have another crack at life again. This guy is a waist of space and a drain on society.
For what its worth, when he came here I supported him very much and argued with those that didn't agree. For that I'm sorry, because now I see I was wrong and you were right. He can't keep being given chances in life, especially playing professional football when it's so many kids dreams.
I will ask all the fans of NR this........ If he wasn't a professional football player, playing for your club and was just a scrotum you read about in the local Echo every now and then, would you support him then? I doubt it very much.
I don't want him back.
I understand the love of our club but too many are letting there hearts take over there brains where NR is concerned. He's one of life's drains.
I will put my life on it that he won't see out his contract and he'll be gone.
While I understand your view completely, I am confused as you say you supported him when he came to Southend, yet this offence was committed before he joined the club so this incident shouldn't colour your view of him.
I gave the guy a chance. He was suspended (for what ever reason), didn't train well (widely documented) and then the jail term. We as fans didn't know about the offence when he signed, it was only brought to light later on.
I can't and refuse to support such a person. if I were to open up the Echo and read about a person constantly offending, I would have the same view. Just because he's a Southend Utd player doesn't change my view I'm afraid. Yet it does with some on here.
