Respective Run-ins

Quote[/b] (Matt the Shrimp @ April 03 2006,19:58)]After all, let's have a look at those away records:

Away record:  Pld  W D  L  F  A   GD  GFA GAA PpG  Pts Rank
Blackpool        20  3  8  9  21 33 -12 1.05 1.65 0.85 17 19
Gillingham       20  2  7  11 12 36 -24 0.60 1.80 0.65 13 22

If we can't back ourselves to beat those two sides at the Hall, then what are we doing at the top of the league?

We need 3 points from both games - just like we needed against Hartlepool, and just like we got against Hartlepool.

Matt
And Walsall's away record is:
W D L F A GD
3 7 11 19 35 -16

and MK Dons:
W D L F A GD
1 5 12 11 36 -22

and how many points did we take off of those two teams at home?

I think I'll take 4 points from the next two games, as I don't think anyone else has an easy game on Saturday, and the following Saturday they are all away from home.

The thing is that stats mean bugger all at this time of the season, unexpected results are the norm, particularly with teams scrapping for promotion or survival.

Having seen Southend sides in the past snatch mid table or the play offs from the jaws of automatic promotion you will always have your doubts until the obese bint starts her caterwauling. However this Blues set up has the best team spirit and mental attitude of any Blues side i have seen since Webby's team took us to the promised land in 1991.

Just keep the faith.

I agree with Matt, we have to win these next two. We can still go up if we dont, but the pressure would really be on.

Its a shame we only got a draw at Bournemouth, (which I would have taken at Kick off), as that would have really taken the pressure off.

We need 8 points to go up (although its mathematically possible for other teams to get 86 I dont think two will be able to) so 6 points of them from the next two games pretty much gets us there.

However draw one and we would still need 4 points from 4 games, which isnt the end of the world but having to actually go to Barnsley and Swansea to try to get points wont be good. Assuming the worst and we lost both we would have to get a win and a draw from Doncaster/Bristol City. Thats do-able, however would be extremely nervy!

Win the next two and imagine how much more relaxed the players will be going to those away games ? The pressure would be on them completely and it might actually be easier to pick up a point or two.

With any luck the other challengers will slip up for us.

Personally I think that the threat is from Brentford and Huddersfield. Brentford thankfully are on an awful run.

Col u should lose this Saturday which will essentially leave them with too much to do. Oldham and Barnsley I think are too far behind and would need to win all 6 games just to get to 80/801 points. Swansea have a decent chance with their game in hand to have an outside chance.
