thought they did a good job on Saturday of reminding the dreadful ref of his responsibilities regarding time keeping -

got the goalie booked -

shows how home adavantage should be -

and given how "robust" Carlisle are at home shows how important the support is - will Barnard get any protection at Brunton Park ???

true, although we may have to accept some blame for their goal after giving Gilligan stick about his corners, his 'shhh' gesturing to the home fans suggested as much. shame really, worked a treat on Danny Pugh last season.

If he stops backing into strikers and grabbing them might not need it.

Love his fighting spirit but he is the cause of most of the climbing 'fouls' made against him. It was the same when he played against us for Crewe and it was he who got booked and not Peter Clarke...

I think you're right there. Last Tuesday I and most of the West Stand was screaming at the referee to give free kicks for "fouls" on Barnard. On reflection though and seeing it again at the Northampton game on Saturday, it was clear to me that in many cases it is actually Barnard who is backing in. Even when he was fouled, the ref (he was cack on Saturday anyway :headbang: ) wasn't going to give it.
