Model pro as well.I loved Fortuné. He was genuinely my favourite player while he was with us. His ability to keep and hold the ball took a lot of pressure of us at times when we were defending a lead or holding on for a draw. And he did an awful lot to bring other players in. He made good intelligent runs into space, too, and was always bothering defenders to try to get possession back.
Defenders must have hated playing against him.
He must have been around 35 when we had him and I'd bank on him being one of the hardest working in the squad. He never seemed to stop running and chasing lost causes. The partnership he had with Cox was a great one at times as well.
The realisation that in a little over two years we have gone from Cox and Fortune to Goodship and Acquah is terrifying. What makes it worse is some people used to slate Fortune - I'd do anything to have a player like that up front for us now!
