It would make sense to be giving Ted a start on this game. If the rumours of a departure weren't about wouldn't give it a second thought. (please don't go...)

apologies for my ignorance as a newbie but are Chris Phillips's tweets always so cryptic "Great to have spoken to Joe Pigott for tomorrow's paper", "Transfer news breaking", "It's a player coming in, not out". Appreciate he has to sell papers but, in this day and age of instant news, it seems a bit silly to not just tell people what is going on. Maybe it's just me

Enough to give you a banging headache?

Got it in one, and the need to be enigmatic on social media I'm afraid.

Hopefully it's Hunt as he's in tne directors box tonight, with Kavaner, who was supposed to be away on holiday (?).

Gloom earlier this evening with the thought of Bents going, now much more happy with possibility of Hunt coming in and going 2-1 up in tonight's friendly. Oh the ups and downs of it all, bring on the start of the season!

i know this isn't great but Hull are selling James Chester to West Brom for £8mill which is serious money http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33689365

means they might have money sloshing around and might have amazing transfer negotiators to get that sort of money....

I think that £8 million is their transfer budget and Bruce couldn't/can't do much until the deal is done. That said the Hull boys reckon they will be after 5 players with the money. No one is saying one of the five will be Bentley, but neither are they saying it won't be. We shall see.

:stunned::sad:
hope he's not, i'd love to keep him for a bit longer. c'mon, try a season in League 1 young Daniel

I just don't see Hull being the club where he's going to continue to develop into the player of his potential. Yes, it's a higher level and it's inevitable he will play at that level and higher but Hull, no offence to their supporters, in my opinion is a club made up of good players that didn't reach their potential. Curtis Davies, Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore among others... Okay, there is James Chester who looks likely to progress, and Robbie Brady and Andrew Robertson have had minor speculation. But those players where all based up north already...

Someone on SZ wrote about how Joe Pigott taking his time about his decision to either stay at Charlton or possibly move to us because whatever he decides is likely to shape his career, one way or the other; and it's the same for Dan.

I'm not saying he's not leaving. I'm not saying it won't be Hull and I'm not saying he won't do great there. But I don't think it's the right move, right now.

Hull will be at the top end of the Championship next year and if they want DB in this window they have the money to get him. I hope he stays but it's out of our hands. He could go on to play in the Prem with Hull quite easily.

I think Hull will now increase their bid and Bentley will go , in all fairness if it means we can add 3 or 4 quality players then in the long run it will be a good thing for the club .

Regarding Ted SMith and being rooted to his line , ive played when you have a rookie keeper in behind you and as a CB you may tell him to stay on his line and just concentrate on that and let the back 4 deal with balls coming into the box , im not saying thats whats going on but it may well be

Swansea and forest both set to bid according to sky sports app cud be **** especially with forest not able to spend

I was kind of saying a similar sort of thing last night... however the problem is that naturally the defence plays deeper as they don't have the same level of confidence in the keeper and it's a more uncertain defence. That will mean we will concede more goals. Whilst many on here criticise Browns approach by concentrating initially on a clean sheet mentality, personally I applaud it. It does not mean we are trying to eke out 1-0 wins all the time; I'm sure he would be delighted with 3 and 4 goal victories but essentially if you don't concede, you won't get beat. Personally I do not want to go back to the not too distant days of playing handicap football, where we forever seemed to let in 2 every game and therefore needed 3 to win.

With the sort of money changing hands nowadays for young players untried at Prem or even Championship level (who was the guy who went to Swansea from Exeter for 1.5M recently? prime example) and given DB appears to be highly rated by many in the game, he has to be worth £2m to a Prem club looking to boost its British ranks, or a minimum £1.5m up front with a bloody decent sell-on. If Swansea want to come up with that sort of offer then it has to be good for everyone, and he'd certainly go with my blessing.
