Seems like we got the sort of penalty normally only reserved for home teams on Saturday, although, from the TV angle, you couldn't possibly say the decision was wrong.

I think Tuesday's rearraged match at Swindon will by far the hardest of our three away matches in 8 days at bottom of the League sides.

The match officials are exactly the same as originally appointed for the postponed match.

Referee will be Karl Evans from Manchester. He is in his second season and has refereed Southend just once before - away at Bristol Rovers this season (just one yellow there).

His statistics for the season are:

He has refereed 13 matches which have produced 28 yellow and 1 red cards ... so fairly average.

Highlight of his short career is sending off Billy Paynter last season.

Assisting will be Steve Martin from Stafford and Steve Robbins from Gloucester. Simon Knapp, also from Gloucester is 4th official.

checking out virgin highlights looks like a definate penalty ..... Laurent was well away and past him and was brought down by the defender from behind before he got to the ball.

All the protests were probabley fired up by the reality of knowing their guy had screwed it despite being their best player ....

Eamonn Smith replaces Steve Robbins as 2nd Assistant Referee for tonight's match.
