Pilots fly the planes, not troops. Moreover, assuming they're manned (i.e. not drones) they'll be about 2 people on board at quite a high altitude (or more accurately flight level), meaning that ISIS can't see them let alone shoot at them (all being well).

Troops may be used in future, but not at the moment.

an absolutely barnstorming speech from Hilary Benn which put into words my feelings about this sad but necessary action. Daesh are fascists pure and simple and need to be eradicated. Never easy. Failed in Spain, took years and nearly failed with Hitler. The fact that Barna acurately says he will never be leader of Labour is one reason I'm an ex Labour party member and resigned from Unison when they decided to back Corbyn. Believe me brothers there is never a kind hard left politician. They are pure evil.

Well said. The same people ruined my own union the FBU. Far to concerned with their own narrow minded politics than the interests of its members.

The government, press and management played them like a fiddle and they still think they are right. Still do and say exactly what the status quo want them to.

Can you imagine a shadow cabinet with Benn, Jarvis, Chuka Umunna and the likes of Stella Creasy holding the government to account rather that the shambles we currently have?
