The EU Referendum

How are you voting?

  • Remain

    Votes: 45 43.7%

  • Total voters
    103
  • Poll closed .
Now now old chap.

I think you'll find that I'm the one defending the right of British workers to shape their own destiny whereas you are joining with the Tory Prime Minister, the CBI, the Bank of England, the IMF, the bureaucratic monolith in Brussels and many other capitalist institutions that I didn't realise were so close to your heart.

AWB would turn in his grave - and that arch Tory, Michael Foot.

You should be watching the Liverpool game.:raspberry:

Ha, worst kept secret ever. Shows you that Labour couldn't be further from its Left and Socialist roots than it is right now.

Yes that was clear from what I quoted.AsI said, Paul Mason's always been a maverick.

The left,on the whole,is not divided over the EU.

Tories like you are.

As long as you maintain your current stance, you cannot call yourself a true "Lefty" or champion of the working class.

Being anti-Tory doesn't make you left wing. The EU stands for everything the true Left Wing is supposed to despise.

Ah but are you familiar with the concept of pooled or shared sovereignty?

Being part of the EU is what helps to make GB a player on the world stage in the 21st century.Leaving would be a recipe for who knows what?

Blimey. I had no idea that we'd lose our seats at the tables of G8 and G20, and be thrown out of NATO and the UN if we left the EU 🤔🙄😉

Don't think I've ever called myself a "true lefty" or a "champion of the working class".I am most certainly anti-Tory, however.

I disagree with the idea that the EU "stands for everything the true Left Wing is supposed to despise."

I imagine by "the true Left Wing" you mean marginal groups like the SWP, (which I've never been a member of,BTW).Though I certainly attended many of their public meetings back in the day along with selling their paper.

As I've said before, the left is not divided over EU membership. The right and the Tories, in particular, most certainly are.

Don't think anyone has seriously suggested this.

Why do you persist with this line when it is simply not true. Besides people would rather vote for someone who is not just going to do as their told by party headquarters. Like JC used to be

I wish the out campaign would make better use of Labour MP Gisela Stuart. Heard her on the radio the other day. Much more of a balanced debate and had some honest proper answers for once. People might actually listen to people like her rather than the horse s*** being spouted about by so called senior politicians.

Ha! I understand mfurok once voted UKIP as "a protest vote".I'd sooner drop dead.:raspberry:

You should be proud of me.

That was my unsuccessful ploy to unseat the man who allegedly hides from the press in a ladies hairdressing salon when they want to ask about his expenses and whose son allegedly hit someone over the head in a night club with a champagne bottle.

Fair enough tactics I thought.
