The Olympics thread

First road cycling medal ever, yes?

Absolutely raining cats, dogs and chickens there - rowing, archery and tennis all suspended. Would think that the road race would have gone the same way if it hadn't started already.

Now that was a tight finish. Somehow she kept ahead of the other 2 for the last 200m, thought the Swedish girl was going to overtake her at the death.

Well done to her.

The South Koreans set a world record in beating China in the Archery final. Needless to say, the Chinese are not very happy bunnies about it.

Us cyclists are a pretty tough breed, would take an extreme amount of weather for a race to be called off (if the roads are fully closed like they are for the Olympics)

Good effort by Nicole & lets hope the track medals come thick and fast when we move over to the velodrome later in the week!

Wouldn't want to go uphill like they had to though - be a bloody waterfall or something before long the way it was going.

The Chinese are now happy again after they won the 52kg Judo Womens Gold.

I'm pretty sure that cycling fans will be in for a treat from the GB team in these games, I think I'm right in saying our team comprises something like 9 current world champions.
