Breaking News Tilly No Longer Hopeful - misses out on loan striker!

I had it confirmed to me last night that player in question was indeed Gary McSheffrey.

Trusted source?

If so, thats another bold move considering the rumours of lack of money. McSheffrey is going to be on around £8-10k a week, if not more and we'd have to pay a % of that surely? No wonder he didnt come here and it makes me wonder if he was the only player on the list and why we didnt have backup options.

Same old question, why not go for someone more obtainable - especially in the situation we were in last night. I couldnt go, but sounds like we missed some sitters - would a fully fit striker have put one away and maybe helped us to 3 points...

No it was Kevin Phillips. I heard this from Ron Martins milkman when he dropped off my 2 pints of full cream this morning.

Not convinced it would have been McSheffrey seeing as his naturally a left winger and was being linked with a host of Championship sides recently.

Yet if we brought in someone of lesser ability we would have just as many complaining of lack of ambition.

I dont see the big deal, we had one game where we had a shortage, next game we will have 3 to choose from again. Why bring in an "obtainable" striker and pay for him for a month when we only needed him for 90 minutes.

If we get someone in then go for quality I say...
