Is there any rumours who would be in for Gus? I've heard nothing so far. I think he'll stay one more season.
I actually think Gus is a strange one in terms of a potential move. He’s not a full back, but if he was going to move up a league and someone wanted a wing back, they’d probably want someone a bit better defensively. On the flip side, if they were playing a more attacking 3 at the back and wanted a right midfielder, they’d probably want someone who’s a proper winger. There is some interest. Whether that develops I don’t know. I think his preference is to stay as things stand.
I don’t get why you would get that from the comments.Does this mean he's off?
Move to the EFL?
there was a rumour on here, maybe around 2-3 months ago, that a fee had been agreed and he would be off this summer. It was suggested Barnet as they were pretty much guaranteed promotion back to the EFL and it was closer to home for him (Hemel Hempstead ).I actually think Gus is a strange one in terms of a potential move. Kev has really got the best out of him and he’s carved out this really niche role for himself here where he has more freedom to roam and ghost in with less emphasis on defensive work. That’s what makes Gus so bloody good and I don’t know how likely he is to find that sort of role elsewhere. I would love him to stay and he seems pretty happy and settled which is always a huge plus. But he strikes me as a player who suits a very particular role/system which could narrow down potential suitors.
That’s the most likely kind of move I could see him making. But I’ve still got a feeling he’ll stay put. Next season will be a serious promotion push and if we don’t do it, he’ll be out of contract and given his age, I can see him being desperate to get in the football league at that point and moving on. But I kinda get the feeling he’d rather be in the EFL with us.there was a rumour on here, maybe around 2-3 months ago, that a fee had been agreed and he would be off this summer. Like I say it was a rumour on here - can’t be bothered to search for it but probably could be found
I had a moment of Insanity and thought a post in a tranfer thread may actually be linked to......a transfer.I don’t get why you would get that from the comments.
Luton will be a league one club next season...Luton obviously have plans for Bim. It showed their intent when he wasn't allowed to stay with us, and they got him up to the next league. I suspect next season or the one after, he will be loaned out to a League One club. Unless they think he's ready to go into their match day squad.
I’d love to keep him but have to disagree re. Sunday. Far from his best and he was absolutely knackered at the end. I assume he was being kept on for a possible shootoutAbsolutely vital we keep Gus, dont understand the criticism of his defensive abilities, thought he was outstanding on Sunday as he has been all season. Happy with him, Ralph and Taylor at the back but need better than Goodliffe, Crowther and Bridge. A left back like Oldhams with a proper left foot delivery would be good.
If Gus goes Wind will prove to be an adequate replacement. That's my opinion for whatever it is worth.Absolutely vital we keep Gus, dont understand the criticism of his defensive abilities, thought he was outstanding on Sunday as he has been all season. I'd take Reid or Dieseruvwe over Hopper or Bonne all day long. Both are units and both score goals.Reid at Wealdstone and dieseruvwe at Hartlepool both free agents should be looking at them proven goal scorers at the level
Dieseruvwe is a real handful and would give us a real physical presence upfront. Would be an upgrade to Hopper.Reid at Wealdstone and dieseruvwe at Hartlepool both free agents should be looking at them proven goal scorers at the level
I wonder if Kevin Maher will put in a cheeky bid for Harry Cardwell at FRG.I'd take Reid or Dieseruvwe over Hopper or Bonne all day long. Both are units and both score goals.
By all accounts, Reid is pretty quick.I'd take Reid or Dieseruvwe over Hopper or Bonne all day long. Both are units and both score goals.
No. Kev doesn't bid for players and we're not paying the wages he is currently on.I wonder if Kevin Maher will put in a cheeky bid for Harry Cardwell at FRG.
Some guy sitting by me on Sunday said we have Hopper & Bonne. Oldham have Garner & Norwood I said yes just to have a experienced goal scorer on the bench like Garner would be goodI'd take Reid or Dieseruvwe over Hopper or Bonne all day long. Both are units and both score goals.
Would prefer Reid out of those two. Most likely you would assume too due to locationI'd take Reid or Dieseruvwe over Hopper or Bonne all day long. Both are units and both score goals.
