Transfer News, Gossip & Speculation Transfer Thread - Summer 2025 Edition.

Transfer news
As always I think we need to judge the business done at the beginning of the season rather than being overwhelmed or underwhelmed by the quality of players we are linked with in the meantime.

To move forward we need to bring in players better than what we already have. A pretty obvious statement. And our expectations will need to be set accordingly.

If one or more of those players who are better than we already have are inspired signings from the league below fantastic and impressive- and a significant change in fortunes on that front…

Just been announced on the Eastleigh FC website;

Eastleigh FC are delighted to announce the signing of defender Temi Eweka following his departure from Maidstone United!

Eweka’s career began in the academy ranks at Dartford, before he gained valuable senior experience with VCD Athletic, Kingstonian, and Hastings United on loan. His breakthrough came at Bracknell Town, where he played a central role in their 2021/22 Isthmian League South Central title-winning side, making 35 appearances and contributing six goals.

The defender’s performances earned him a move to Maidenhead United in the National League for the 2022/23 season. Loan spells followed at Gloucester City, Dulwich Hamlet, and Slough Town, where Eweka made an impact.

During his initial loan spell with Slough Town, the 25-year-old helped steer the Rebels clear of relegation with a series of assured performances in defence. He was quickly signed on a permanent basis in August 2023 and went on to play 46 matches, score three goals, and help the team secure a top-half finish while reaching the First Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

In May 2024, Eweka made the step up to full-time football with Maidstone United, reuniting with former opposition manager George Elokobi. On his league debut, Eweka scored a dramatic 89th-minute winner and continued to impress with his assured performances.

Upon joining the Spitfires, Eweka commented: “Once I knew there was interest, with the other clubs that were interested in me, Eastleigh was the one I wanted to go to.

“After speaking to the gaffer, as a footballer, it’s always nice to be wanted, and the interest he showed in me was top, and from walking around and meeting everyone, it seems like a top club already, so I’m happy to be here!”

*Subject to clearance from The National League and The FA

Thanks for that. I think it's time for me to take a break from the Zone as it's starting to feel like commenting against the flow is no longer allowed. Bye for now.

Time to come back after two and a half years if you’re going to take a break from the Zone.

Bye for now.

Perhaps I won’t be banned again as I agree with you about Tom but I’m not holding my breath.

Off the Line, who are always worth a read, have released their recruitment plan for Southend

I don’t think they quite nail this one at the back where I think we need a ball playing CCB and they propose a RCB and Goodliffe but their other suggestions seem decent on paper.
