Neighbour has just brought me round a lovely looking Brown Trout, think i will cook it tonight, i have cooked quite a few different recipes in the past with Trout but can not decide what to do with it.....Grill, fry, bake....Dilema dilema.

Any suggestions???

Do like stuffing Fish with fennel , lemon , garlic and wrapping it in foil and wacking it in the oven , think you had put a bit of water in the bottom of the tray .......job done simple and tasty .

Definitely going to use some Fennel and Lemon thyme out of the garden.....I don't want to Poach it as i fancy a crispy skin.

Might go for the grill method with some garlic butter lemon zest and fresh herbs with new potatoes in a a parsley butter, green beans and honey glazed carrot's

Let it go off for a few days after cooking it and put it in Senga's lunch box..

:D

Dave,
Bake it with cucumber sauce (assuning it is rainbow trout), Add saute potatoes and some fresh vegs. Mmmm lovely

OOps silly me . You said brown trout. In this case I would wrap it in bacon so that the bacon juices are absorbed. It is lovely. Trust me

Have gone for the popular baked method stuffed with Fennel, thyme garlic, lemon and some small bacon pieces.

I can smell it now :)

the trout should be POACHED should ask dave the shrimper eg daves cooking corner for cooking tips.

Poaching might not be the best option if i want crispy skin mate. I know how to cook a trout just wondered how others would cook it
