The lad who got sent off for them last night ( Morsey ) seemed to be their main midfield playmaker when they were on sky last month , so hopefully that's a real positive one for us

If it were from their official site I would agree with you. Given that it apparently comes from a forum it's probably just scaremongering and exaggeration.

It'll be interesting to see how many of those players mentioned end up in the team/squad.
Yep, coming from a forum, bound to be exaggerated rubbish!

It's not scaremongering unfortunately for Vale. Not sure on Loft's injury as it was his first start back but don't think he lasted 15 minutes before being subbed so I doubt he'll be risked again so soon.

The rest are def out through either suspension or longish-term injury.

Our problem is a very disjointed defence with a currently ropey teenager, a midfielder at left back, a back up right back with just Clayton MacDonald a first choice player. If you have any quick, tricky players you'll more than likely have a lot of joy.

We've always got a chance of scoring with Myrie-Williams, Vincent, Pope and Williamson but at the moment we're letting plenty in. I'm sure you'll attempt to cut off the wingers as everyone else tries to...I just hope your method isn't doing a 'Rochdale' by trying to kill them in the process!

Mind games in my view, very much along the lines of half our team being injured and not fit to play (I thought Phillips had done his groin again?) and then them turning out the very next day - something Sturrock's done several times.

Who cares who's playing for Vale. Worry about our own team. Strong in midfield now with decent players around them make us a strong team against anyone in this division.

One of the main reasons Gillingham & Vale started so well is that they both had very few injuries / suspensions. So this is good news, and if we have any genuine automatic promotion ambitions, good news for more than just Saturday

Morsy - suspended
mccombe - suspended
duffy - ankle ligament damage
murphy - hamstring on tues night
loft - calf injury reoccurrence in his first start after a month out
Owen - just a crock in general. Think he's played his last game after the latest injury

We have a very strong first 11 and up until mid October were very fortunate with injuries but we only have been able to register 20 players due to admin so we'll expect a rough few weeks until the takeover is finalised.

We have only picked up 2 pts from the last 9 so it's clear it's starting to take its toll (although 2 of those games we've been reduced to 10 men)

LADY VALE , you say u have only picked up 2 points from your last 9 , Southend be lucky if they picked up 3 points from their last 3 home matches ,draw against Barnet, lost to Aldershot, bottom and 2 nd bottom,Yet our supporters keep turning up ,hopefully Saturday will be a turning point for the team at home , GO THE BLUES !!

Robbie williams is a multi millionaire 'massive PortVale fan',Why doesn't he give his club say 1mio quid to tide them over ?Are there any multi millionaire southend pop stars apart from Alf who we could write begging letters to?

As much as I hate to say it and as brilliant as Vale have been this season I think this will be a game too far for us. I would imagine that if you should beat us, with our position in the table it'll give your players a massive lift and set you on a run.

We knew the size of our squad would be a problem but we've managed to ride out the majority of the storm and with the takeover due to be completed in the next 2 weeks hopefully we can get some reinforcements in.

Going forward we're a match for anyone but we have let 2 goals in in each of the last 3 matches so I think we can currently rule a clean sheet out with our patched up back 4.....you should have some joy there.

As for Robbie he gave the last lot of lumbering crooks £250,000 and became the clubs major shareholder. To his credit he did give his share vote to the supporters club in the battle to oust them rather than let the Board profit from them.....other than that I doubt he'll have any more involvment from now on.

So these are longish term injuries. If that is the case then you've known about them for a while, and are nothing new. To me that is an exaggeration and smells of someone on a forum trying to scare PV fans.

It's like us saying we're going to be without Neil Harris, and possibly Barry Corr, neither of whom have played more than 3 games this season.

By longish term I mean 3-4 weeks and no sign of an immediate return. We rushed Loft back because we have been struggling and now he's out again.

Its just the way it is at the moment.

So it probably is someone just tying to cause mischief amongst PV fans...

John spicer also doubles as a defender. He's a great battler and his tacking is inch perfect. He's out of the team at the moment due to crazy management. You should let Adams know, after the weekend of course
