I love a name that does exactly what it says on the tin. Reminds me of this joke.We use,Gas Boiler Services , they are based in Stanford-le-Hope. Very knowledgeable and reasonably priced.
Every year for about 2 or 3 weeks I look at air conditioning for the house. Then it gets cool again. The outdoor thermometer is currently registering 31.5°c in the shade. Great for some, not so great for others.
Yeah, can see heat pumps being as popular for their ability to cool in summer as heat in winter.Every year for about 2 or 3 weeks I look at air conditioning for the house. Then it gets cool again.
It's going to ne that at some point air conditioning may be required to get through the summers.
I do the same, and then I look at the price!Every year for about 2 or 3 weeks I look at air conditioning for the house. Then it gets cool again.

looks like it's done rather better in Spain had to renew my proof of existence back in Jan.-no problems to report since! We who live outside the UK have to provide proof to DWP that we are still alive which I duly completed a month ago. Heard nothing and my state pension was due today but not received into my bank account. Fearing the worst I telephoned DWP and a recorded announcement apologised that all expat pensions were handled by an American bank and would be delayed 2/3 days because of a bank holiday in the USA! A Victor Meldrew moment if ever there was one.
I don't think it's about the country of residence but rather when your pension is due. If it coincides with a USA bank holiday hard luck! How on earth did an American bank get the job and how safe is our private information data in the hands of an American bank especially in the Trump era?looks like it's done rather better in Spain had to renew my proof of existence back in Jan.-no problems to report since!
Are you somewhere that accepts dollars?I don't think it's about the country of residence but rather when your pension is due. If it coincides with a USA bank holiday hard luck! Never heard of Juneteenth either. The message on the DWP website stated that overseas pensions are paid by an American bank and the delay was because of a bank holiday so I don't think the country of residence comes into it.Are you somewhere that accepts dollars?
It was the Juneteenth bank holiday yesterday (nope I'd never heard of it either)
It only became a federal holiday in 2021.It was the Juneteenth bank holiday yesterday (nope I'd never heard of it either)
Only if the beneficiary is in the US, you'd imagine. It actually states on the Gov website that pensions can be delayed because of bank holidays in the USA as payments are handled by an American bank. What have we come to!
If only it was true end of olden day slavery but sadly not the modern worldIt only became a federal holiday in 2021.
It celebrates the end of slavery.
No. The American bank is responsible for making payments to all British pensioners living outside the uk. My pension, which I receive every four weeks, should have been credited to my bank account on Friday but I won't get it until next week. The DWP apologises!Only if the beneficiary is in the US, you'd imagine.
So a payment in GBP from the UK to a non-US territory is delayed because of a US holiday? That's pretty bad. Is it a one-off error or should you be expecting the same in future? No. The American bank is responsible for making payments to all British pensioners living outside the uk. Exactly that. Nor a one off error and is specifically mentioned on the Gov website that payments can be delayed because of USA bank holidays. So a payment in GBP from the UK to a non-US territory is delayed because of a US holiday?
