whos with me

I remember saying those exact things to my brother when it was rumoured he'd go, I thought being a local lad, adored by the fans, and the fact that we stuck by him throughout his injuries etc, he might have stayed. before i get slated i realise theres the bigger club/wages, contract running out, we dont want to break the wage structure etc, but it seems we were merely a stepping stone yet again.

My feelings too .. hopefully Barney can repay us a little more by scoring a few against our fellow strugglers before the season ends

absolutely with you scotty, i am southend united till i die and i will still go to as many games as i can no matter what league we are in. ive got this feeling that we will stay up though.

Angry! My current view is if Tilly is sacked then -That's it for me. Never again.

Tilly has done so much for this club and the current bad state of the club if naff-all to do with him.

Who on the planet could/would do better? May I tell you? Nobody. Fact exact.

If you think otherwise, may I suggest you change your source of mushrooms.

I've had a few fans of other clubs tell me the same thing recently - even if you go down you have to hold onto Steve Tilson. He's recognised by them as a good young manager doing a fantastic job under very trying circumstances.

For me, if we avoid relegation with everything that's gone on this season it will be as big an achievement for Tilly as when he won the division.

I'd be lividly angry if we sacked him and upset if he walked away (although I couldn't blame him really) - however I'll still be a Southend United supporter regardless.

Ron Martin will NOT sack Tilly. He feels Tilly is the best man for the job. FACT!

I'm not sure thats the case

I don't think he'll sack Tilly
a) because he can't afford the pay off
b) because he's so worried about PR he wouldn't want what Tilly knows to fall into the public domain

you support the club as a whole not just the manager, what a stupid comment if he gets sacked your going nowhere and if you do just shows your true colours!

Yeah you're right - I have had a bad week and even SUFC couldn't cheer me up yesterday.

But today :o) Bring On CHARLTON!

if we go down and sack tilson i will not renew my season ticket..
i dont hink anyone could do better in current circumstances look who we nearly got instead brian talbot another failure on the merry go round ian atkins the same tilly is the only man for the job for me what ever division we are in next year.

Totally with you.

If Tilson is sacked, I won't renew. I'll still be a Southend fan, I'll still try and attend games but it would be the final straw as far as my season ticket was concerned.

Your're spot on there I reckon KS, particularly with point 2. Tilly knows where the bodies are buried and I'd guess there are more to be found than in Fred West's house.

If/when Tilly goess - im going to look forward to hear what he says about RM. He's going to have some interesting tales, that is for sure ... !

must say i disagree toa extent here i am a southend fan and will remain so but surelly we must have some loaylty to tilson barret people like that not just the club the club can do wrong.

yes i will always support southend but will not renew my season tiket will attend occasional games in protest of support i will get a season tiket again in the futuer but not for couple of seasons if this happens

if the cub had merely got relegated for bad team/ manager its one thing .but if we do this year because of the running of the club that is un forgivable

Not so sure about that to be honest. Don't remember Dave Webb bad mouthing Vic Jobson and he's had plenty of chance to do so.
Perhaps there will be nothing to tell tales about.

Who and when was the last manager not to get sacked after 2 relegations with the same club? I hope that if we do go down we keep Tilson as manager.

Not sure if Dario Gradi managed it at Crewe. But if not then I can't think of one. I don't think it will happen here either, if we drop then I believe Tilly will be gone.

We just sold him...

I am slightly peed off with Barney actually, I said all along if he goes we are looking at relegation. We got him in when nobody else seemed interested, helped him get fit, played him every game. He had no loyalty to this club. He could have stayed till the end of the season, played well, then got a bigger move than Southampton. Getting the money for him now means nothing when we lose thousands when relegated.

You are assuming this sale was his wish and not the club's?
