There was not one single player on display who looked capable of holding down a first team place. Harrold was ineffective against their youth team back four. That was Colchester's first reserve win of the season. Results of reserve games don't matter but it would be nice for a player or two to put in a performance that gives the management selection options. It just didn't happen. Austin out :)

Injured midway through the first half - took a knock to the head. My suspision is that he was rested for the second half, he was certainly in a big consultation with assistant physio Ben Clarkson and the coaching staff before playing out the remaining 20 minutes or so of the first period. I'd imagine he'll be OK for Saturday.
