Question Will the cost of living crisis affect the club?

Things look really bleak for all businesses who don't already make a handsome profit. Would imagine crowds will drop and overheads will rise considerably.

It's going to get proper, proper grim this winter.

We may not be able to afford the cost to run. I would not be surprised to see some midweek games moved in the league until later in the season when it's lighter later
Tuesday KO at 14:00hrs. That should half the attendance.

There are lots of people and advice groups talking about not paying utility bills. Luckily for us we have an owner who has specialist knowledge in this field.

Saturday 1pm kick offs?
Not great for lower leagues, e.g in the Isthmian Premier, Bognor Regis to Brightlingsea would mean a somewhat early departure. I think the whole fixture list might need re-doing. The above fixture could k.o. at 3 pm in September but not December, for example.

The fuel and energy companies should be all right then.

And thank God for that, I'd hate to think of all their poor executives and shareholders having to go without their bonuses this Christmas.

Ron will find a way round it. He will just pay less people than he is paying now.

The age of Roots Hall and it’s condition is going to do us no favours when it comes to energy efficiency. For example our floodlights alone must be old and costing us much more to run than many other clubs.

All the infrastructure, technology and maintenance costs at Roots hall and B&L is old, very old, worn out BUT not worth replacing as there is the FF dream.
I can fully see the move to 1pm kick offs happening, almost FL and NL wide.
Big screening away games streamed back to RH for home fans to watch away games in a crowd might generate a new income source?

Very much doubt the National League would agree to this.

Think he might of ment 15:00 games could start at 12:00 or 13:00 then it takes away floodlights expense
12:00 !!!!
The very earliest sunset is after 15:30 and that's only for a short while.
