Simon Cox would be an unbelievably good signing IMHO. More likely to be Varney. Cox's wage demands likely to be 3/4x what we would pay I would imagine.

Luke Varney has played most of his career t'up north. Not sure why he wouldnt want to play up there.

U know that it will turn out to be a U21 from some where that we have never heard of!

also noticed on Twitter that CP said that PB wants a squad of 20 with a couple of loanees. Doesn't leave many spaces to fill on that basis

I'd be very surprised if we could afford Cox but if we can pull it off that would be a hell of a signing for us.

Varney, 34 in September, poor goal scoring record, no ta.

For all those thinking Jonathan Kimbabu is a credible source.

Simon Cox would be a hell of a signing be amazed if it was him and he actually signed!

I think someone said on the other thread that it wasn't him. Cox had an amazing season in 2008/09 but he's scored just one goal since 2014 so this might not be a bad thing.

Strikers have good seasons and bad seasons ........... and you have to ask who else was in the team and how it was set-up.

And besides, shouldn't we be "resetting the clock" when a player drops down a division? Logic would suggest that it might be easier to score when a player is in such a situation ............. or perhaps not? :'(
