I was hoping Spain would beat Italy because the Italians are the team I fear most. I would love England to win, I can still remember the exhilaration that 1966 provided, but I fear that Italy will soak up our pressure and catch us on the break. Italy are the better side IMO &, I believe, are on a 31 match winning run which is an 82 year record.
Along with the fact England have never apparently beaten them in a competitive game it looks a nailed on Italy win.

So seemingly outgunned & outclassed on paper.

Reminds me to some extent of a certain Carling Cup match on 6th November 2006, & therein I find my hope & encouragement.

Baring the Scots game England have been a better team than any opposition played. It is good two see that the two best teams, from either side of the draw meet in the final.
France, Spain, and Portugal may argue that they were on a tougher route than England but those are the way cards fall.

Been trying to playdown this game in my head..but failing miserably.Woke up saturday morning at 03.00 and could not sleep anymore....and still got about 36 hours to go.
After reading/hearing what some people say here,not many but some...i want us to stuff them even more.
But its 50-50. Think it will end 1-1 and we win on pens.
BUT how often have we dreamt about this in the last 55 years...and be let down..but just maybe not tomorrow.
Still remember watching us win the 1966 world cup with my dad then living in Elm Road Leigh.
Our record against Italy is awful,but records are there to be broken..CUMON ENGLAND.......please

Italy are a great side but i'm far more optimistic. Think the sides are far more even...we probably have stronger squad depth and more energy in the legs.
