Did this happen mate?Just for clarification the application under 20/00337/OUTM coming before Development Control Committee on 9th February for the former NHS land is for 131 units with a designation of 40 (16 shared ownership and 24 at affordable/social rent).
Did this happen mate?
Yes, the planning application to build 131 homes on the former NHS land at the back of Waitrose, Fossetts Farm, this was all passed at the Wednesday 9th January Development Control Meeting,
The Committee voted eight to two in flavour of the app
And what does this mean for the new stadium As the houses are ment to built around the stadium i thought
Close. It is not part of the clubs Fossetts Farm Development, it is a totally separate development on the former NHS land adjacent to what will become our new Stadium, Hotel, residential, and training ground.
It is the land next/on the roundabout on Fossetts Way, behind Waitrose.
Our planning application remains unchanged.
It won't be starting this year, that's for sureIts still never gonna happen is it. I'm amazed anything ever gets built with so much red tape to get through.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ?????????????That’s my birthday…. An omen? ?
Not quite true (as @MattE helpfully summarised above in post #1,121). Some of the application is for full planning permission and some for outline so not all elements require additional planning applications. The stadium will get full planning permission (when the S106 agreement is signed).Indeed. I think the proper term is outline planning permission. Can you imagine how much the council officers would have to wade through if the plans included the detail for each building as well?
Moreover, it's better to do it piecemeal so that designs aren't set in stone and can accommodate changes in trends and prices, but also because it would be a colossal waste of money to have to pay people to create plans for all the detail if the scheme itself was denied permission.
It won't be starting this year, that's for sure
Yeah, you can always trust an Echo headline, remember even Chris Philips is quick to point out he doesn't write the headlines on his own pieces...This is what's so frustrating. Big headlines like "Southend stadium agreed" but then theres more and more hurdles.
Just get the thing built. It's been dragging on for years. Other clubs put in an application and new ground, housing and whatever else is got on with. Even London clubs like Afc Wimbledon and Brentford etc can get it built in far higher demographic and started the process long after us.
Looks like one of them is the official decision notice.A further 4 documents were uploaded to the Council planning portal yesterday, including the Section 106 (not sure if this is draft or agreed as I haven’t had a chance to read any of it yet
