Since Mrs LF left for pastures new, I've become a dab hand at this shopping and cooking lark.
.....
Anyone know a good sauce recipe to go with trout?
I am a bit sad really.....

I can easily feed myself for £23 a week, if you are smart. The 3 for £10 meat deal in Tescos can provide you with 7 meals easily, so then it just comes down to pastas, rices and veg. Also, and this isn't widely made public, the cheap brands in both Tescos and Sainsbury are no different to the named brands - you can save a shed load by going there.

Hey, where is the option I am the female in the house and I do all the shopping.
God forbid if my husband wanted to come shopping with me, my bill would be triple what I normally spend.

Exactly right Tinks, I concur completely! You end up with all sorts of rubbish (cakes, crisps, sweets - oh this looks interesting!) in the trolley. I either go on my own, or occasionally with my daughter or I shop online. And Dave if you spend that sort of money for two of you, you're spending too much - I do about that for 4!
Can pick some interesting things at the farmers market that Tesco's don't stock!
Samphire, wood pigeon, wild boar, hare, rabbit, venison.
Luvverly :)
That's when my budget goes up cos I ain't buying chicken nuggets.
Samphire grows like a weed all around the coast of Essex.
Unfortunately I'm as far from the sea as you can possibly get. Go harvest me some and I'll buy it £1 a bag :)

6 and 8...easy peasyDid it yesterday in fact, although the 6 is 8. No sweat. Do it every Sunday with the missus and both kids, to a set budget, and each time we do well out of it.
