  1. We're 3rd in the league

I think the topic heading says it all really.       Looking down the list of topics you begin to forget we had an excellent 3-1 win just a few days ago! The only other thing I can think to comment on is: When is Bart going to regain his rightfull place in the starting lineup?
  2. There is more to come from SUFC players!

Another 35 more points to be safe, before the Port Vale game, I would settle for 30 points by end of December & another 22 points to get 52 points to be safe from relegation.  At the moment, with us doing well, agasint League 1 side that SUFC team know little about - I cannot help there is more...

  5. Why no Bart?

Perhaps I missed something as I have been away but why no Bart on the bench??
  6. Success of Southend

This is just an article i wrote for the All At sea Fanzine, thought i'd better start writing some stuff to go with my Uni Application and Personal Statement... Success at Southend As little as 24 months ago, the future of Southend United FC was in question, let alone the likelihood of advancing...

    Walsall

Wow... time is going so fast, 3rd game already tomorrow and 3 in a row for me - looking forward to seeing how many games in a row I can do and its looking good for all of August... Anyway, what do you reckon on tomorrows game? I think its going to be a tougher test than Bradford and I am very...

    Middle of the week...

Wow... just a few days to go and we launch our campaign in a new division. Seems with all the transfer talk, that Saturday (yes, THIS Saturday) match has been forgotten?! Soooo.... Team for Saturday? Thoughts? Feelings? Personally, I think Tilly has a (pleasant) nightmare with the midfield...
  9. Great Wakering tonight

Not a bad game tonight, had to walk from shoebury station through some fields but it was worth it. Nice tidy ground, 2 pound for a student, nuff said. Grimienk in goal, nice shirt. Great wakering scored after three minutes. Massive mistake by Bart, ran out of his area, lost the ball and the...
  10. Chris Day

Just noticed he's joined Oldham. Don't want to go through the whole Bart vs. Flavs argument. But a goalkeeper of his experience and quality would have improved the defence and surely he was within our price range if Oldham can afford him

    Pre-season

Pre-season can mean very little, and obviously in the scope of things does at the end of the day, although there is nothing wrong with playing well, and this is certainly our best pre-season, in terms of performances, aswell as results in many a year. We have looked really good in pre-season so...

    Championship!

just got back was very impressed with the Serbian centre back looks very composed and will be a pin up for the ladies. Mitchell Cole gave their right back nightmares and took his goal very well. And what a relief to see Jay Smith looked good as new. Also worth mentioning young James Lawton who...

    Squad Numbers

Yes, folks, Darryl is Southend's Number 1 again... and Freddy obviously likes being number 23 (good to see the club not exploiting a potential shirt-numbering nightmare for fans as well). Congrats to, notably, Darryl for reclaiming the number 1 shirt and to the Cheesemeister for making the...

We went into the valleys and slayed the giants

Wow, as the hangover has lifted it has finally sunk in that we bloody did it! Although I always followed the Blues fortunes since childhood I didn't really see many games, even when I started work at 17. I actually started to goto to every home game from the middle of 98/99 onwards so...
  16. Bart for Darryl

After a seasons worth of Darryl vs Bart debates I fully expect to start another one off but this board is here to give your opinion and that is what I am going to do. I would honestly play Bart Griemink for this game. Don't get me wrong Darryl is on form and has been fantastic all year...

    Reserves in action

The Reserves are at Col U today. Lewis Hunt and Bart Griemink are back from injury and Bentley and Gower are also in the starting line-up. No Nicolau, which suggests Che is still very doubtful for Saturday, and no Corbett, which suggests the exit door might be looming imminently. We also have a...
  19. Team news vs Oxford

Southend will be without four players when they travel to Oxford looking to cement their position at the top of the table. Midfielder Mark Bentley serves the second game of a two-match ban and goalkeeper Bart Griemink has yet to regain full fitness following a recent knee injury. The pair join...
  20. Stat Attack Part 57

Here is the list of those players who had played the most minutes this season in actual play .v. availability (i.e. in what percentage did those who made it to the matchday 16 actually played). Would these be our top XI for this season? I would think so ... 1. Kevin Maher 99.75% 2. Carl...
