I don't agree. I actually quite like the look of the squad. A keeper, a central midfielder and a striker and we're set, IMO.

If Corr is fit then we don't even need a striker (although I'm crossing everything that we get Eastwood). Four strikers is fine.

We'll get injuries throughout the season but that is what the loan system is there for, Better to carry a small squad with happy players than a big squad with eight players nowhere near the team.

1 Central midfielder be good however I think Leonard would do a great job alongside Timlin
Of course bring Freddy in
A new commanding number 1

Interesting idea - I have only seen Leonard play on the right. And there is talk of Hurst playing there as well. We shall see come the friendlies ......... although it remains to be seen quite how soon Timlin returns to playing competitive (or reasonably competitive) football.

3 more and we're ready for the season. A goalkeeper, a centre midfielder and a Freddy Eastwood.

I agree with that as I think we need a core of about 20 players (and by my count we have 17) plus a sub goalie for emergencies ie one of Bentley or Chambers with the other sent out on loan, plus Woodyard and Coughlan neither of whom I can see featuring much.

Should read 21 I think....

I don't want to tempt fate , but with the addition of a GK and CM , the squad is looking quite strong ( even allowing for the fact that Bilel may be off ).

The Bilel story is hard to deal with, the Echo ask the question and PS doesn't answer; probably because the answer would then lead to 3 further questions on the same subject. We all know Bilel will not be "on the lash" or come back 10 kilos over weight etc and may just simply have been cut some slack because he is very individual and family etc unconnected with Essex. he could be the central midfielder we seem to need. He wins tackles, headers, shoots and reads the game well plus he runs his heart out (when focused).
Oh; he is willing to play in goal!

Never really pictured him as CM , but the points you make are valid.
I am in the pro-Mohsni brigade , but equally baffled as where to play him.
As said before , don't turn down decent offers if he's only going to be an impact sub ( everybody loses ).
The Mohsni debate will always be ongoing , just wish there was a solution that benefits SUFC.

If Mohsni had the intelligence and discipline he'd be a superb defensive midfielder, the football leagues Fellaini. Shame as I think he lacks those two key ingredients.
