I don't agree, he has a terrible attitude and does so to wind people up (and you let him). It's you job to manage such things.

You delete a post from me but yet his none empathy carry on.

Incorrect. My job is Sportsbook Product Manager.

Saw this story and thought "Finally, a good news off the pitch story about Southend United. Not often there's something we can all unite behind as a positive".

Then I read this thread. I should have known better.....

So what is a moderators job then? May as well not have them then.

A job is something you're paid for, and paying Uncle Leo in his yearly intake of Maltesers (a lot of) does not count as he tells HM Revenue.

It's not to pander to the whims of individual users that's for sure.

It's a judgement call - I don't think there is any reason for action against superblue24. Maybe I'm wrong. But there you go.

If you have an issue with a particular post you may report it. All moderators will then be alerted.

In my role as volunteer mod can I just say that the site rules require posters to stay on topic wherever possible. It's obvious that this is an emotive subject which has produced varying views but now the thread is way off topic at the moment, so can we all now please get back on track. Thank you.

The moment we start taking action because someone has posted something someone doesn't agree about we hit a rocky road. I mean, isn't the point of a forum to engender discussion and debate?

This particular poster has posted something he believes to be right, it is not offensive or harmful and I'll defend his right to do so, even though I disagree with everything he has said.

I would think that the 1 month suggested for exchange is not rigid. I'm sure an explanatory email to the club suggesting that there could be individual circumstances that mean 1 month isn't possible would be met with empathy.

So far you have not come up with a single credible argument to counter a charitable gesture. Keep trying though

Please, please don't... This is a brilliant gesture by the club and the solitary dissenting voice is curdling what would normally have been a celebration of the milk of human kindness.

I am going to say this one last time, just for final clarification and avoidance of any doubt. I think it's a great cause and I'm proud the club is supporting it.

i just can't understand why it's taken 4-5 games into the season after having the previous shirts on sale for x weeks to make this change... I would have simply had the players wear tshirts before kick off like we did in the Blackburn game. Anyone saying that there is "no change to the look of shirt" is wrong because if that were the case then logic would tell you that Ron wouldn't be replacing the original shirts. What would be the point otherwise?

i also think it represents poor form to allow our chairman to shoulder the costs of replacing the shirts when it would make more money for the trust for each individual to buy a new shirt and just keep or bin the old one. I accept that a new team shirt is a big outlay for some, but I would hope that those exchanging will also make a donation of some kind to the charity, especially those who have been so quick to jump on my back!

Good cause but I agree with SeldomSeenShrimper, the logo (if you can call it that) looks a bit naff. And we must have the most text-heavy sponsor's logo in the world, they could have done without the hashtag underneath. Maybe it's a ploy to put off opposition players because it takes them so long to read it. :dim:

This is spot on, people call someone a troll because they constantly don't agree with things, I would not, as it's just their point of view. An agressive direct attack on A person is a different ball game, the mods do seem to get that wrong, opinions without malice is what we want from forums.

There has only been a small handful of SUFC shirts over the years that don't look a bit naff.

Who cares? The gesture is the main thing.
