Bit of Transfer Gossip

We should be looking to get JonJo Shelvey in on loan from Charlton as well. He might only be 16, but anyone that watched him captain the England U16s can see what a talent he is. He was playing with the U18s at Charlton last year when he had just turned 15, and he's now playing for their reserves. Portsmouth are after him though, but I can't see him going straight into a premiership first team. He lives in Harold Hill, so it's an easy trip down the road.

Jonjo

yeah i cant say who but i believe he currently plays for bristol R... i believe it was a failed attempt
Cheers Rousey. Don't feel pressurised into telling us anything as we're just bloodsucking addicted fans. Anything I say after this will be back in my 'tell me more' mode. Just a prior warning.
Has to be Rickie Lambert then.........?!
Looking through the Bristol Rovers squad, I guess so.

Jonjo

Jonjo is in the year below me at school. He is currently studying for his GCSE's so there is no chance this season. He has a number of full time deals from the summer on the table from Porstmouth (£2 million bid rejected in October), Manchester united and Chelsea as well as Charlton. I believe his father is quite an influence on his career and wants him at a big team. He as mentioned is a reserve team player and is pushing for first team appearances from next season especially is Charlton stay down. As a referee of county games that in the past have involved Jonjo i can tell you he is a class above anything at his age. He is a centre midfielder and set piece taker. He has some pace, amazing skill, he can tackle, has brilliant vision and scores goals. IMO he will play in the premier league for a big side. It's a view shared by the coaches and scouts. If we could get him on loan next season i'd be amazed.

His father is indeed influential, and also the director of football at the club my kids play for, Harold Hill Youth FC. He is indeed class, and a lovely kid to boot!!

no worries - also, i can tell you he will go straight into the team, and not be put into the reserves, etc - probably part to do with charlie

he was sitting behind me in the directors box today, and i can tell you that contrary to the other thread we haven't paid 200k for him...

So why did Ron Martin say himself that we had?

Like I said in another thread about him, this is a good signing and one I'm excited about. Scored a cracking goal in Yeovils' game on Sky this season, possibly against Gillingham where Sodje got badly injured.

It's all very well signing players for the future, we need players for now. It might not be too far away and we could be sliding far down that table and fighting a relegation battle!

TTK, "Short-term pain for long-term gain" and all that speech, springs to mind.

this guy is meant to be good, if he doesnt work for us, at worst we will make some money on him
