Shouldn't it
Hasnt hardley played! Rhf has been playing and got 1 goal and never looks like scoring

Exactly shrimpet, he hasn't played a lot and is a fair bit older than the glory years you're still picturing him scoring hundreds of goals in.

It takes time to get a player match fit, look at Ranger, you desperately wanted him to start ages ago and sadly he may not get match fit again.

I'm sure MM will play Holmes when he's as close to ready as possible and he provides the best option. No offence but I have more trust in MM's judgement on a player he works with all week than yours or mine.

If he starts I'll be pretty excited to see what he can offer us and I hope he has flashes of quality that can help steer us up the table, and then plenty of us will undoubtedly be putting him on the starting XI for the game at Oldham!

I think the first trap to avoid would be breaking up the the SH/JW partnership at CB- don't do it!
I agree Demi in there would make most sense - playing someone there out of position is a bad idea (e.g. Halford)

Yep keep CBs the same at all costs. Demi definitely still has the legs over Halford and the experience over Howard. It’s one of those things, if he can’t play there anymore we’ll soon find out! He still seems spritely enough to me but I just don’t see MM playing him there anyhow. As In The Know says, he’ll move Hobson there and play Cordner at CB or even play Cordner at RB IMO.

doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out itk's sources tbh.
Always possible I'm told wrong info tho! ? or Elvis manages to make it through a late test.
id definitely hope people have lots better things to do than bother working out my connection to sufc, which i wouldn't divulge or confirm on the site anyway. Hopefully understandably.
plus I try to be careful not to post things that are personal to a player or may affect his family etc.
I'm aware of other shrimperzoners on here with similar info that I enjoy reading.
I think the mix of opinions, factual info, views, guesses and summaries on here make this a great forum. It should win awards for how it's run if there are any??
Most important thing is we get 1 or 3 points tonight !

Does Demitriou have the legs for RB anymore? I can see any winger with a bit of pace destroying him.

Howard's a RB, is he still training with the first team? If so he might be a better option.
Given that MM has so far managed to put Hobson and Halford there when necessary the reference to Demi's speed seems rather irrelevant. Its more about reading the game, positioning etc. As Halford demonstrated perfectly when he was put there. demi has never been particularly rapid and not sure he is a lot less so now. put a specialist in there and right no I would prefer Demi to Howard.

I assume Akinola is fit if he is travelling?
He might be but there does have to come a point where MM's comments about squad rotation come into play- Akinola has been very good for us but came off feeling tightening in the legs and lower back on Sat? Throw him in as a starter again today? There is some point when you have to use the squad to avoid players picking up unnecessary injuries and missing 2-3 weeks or worse..especially key players like Akinola. But we will see- maybe he's absolutely fine.

If MM splits up Hobson and white tonight, that could end up being a dumb move. Just put jd or even halford their. Both started their careers as right back!

Judging by the lack of announcement of a new loanee from the club I would assume Seaden. Though of course there are still a couple of hours until the lineup is announced...
Give CP is travelling its probably the club making any announcement- in which case it might be as late as an hour or so before KO. So I would assume nothing..

er..... was expecting someone from a little higher up the football ladder

Not sure about this signing!! Not even a league keeper!! What makes mm think hes better then seaden? And seaden knows now how much mm rates him !!

Always love your info so thanks for sharing.

We get a lot of comments on here asking why we rarely dip into the lower leagues to pick up talent, then when we do it's suddenly a bad thing to do.

Judging by the replies to the announcement, anyone that's regularly watched him are saying he's one of the best keepers in the non-leagues. Maybe give him a chance eh?

I do hope It’s cover for Seaden and not the other way around?.
The emergency goalkeeper rules are very clear - if you sign one under those regulations, they have to start. Montgomery will be starting tonight, Seaden will be on the bench. It's the only way we can guarantee having two senior goalkeepers.

Even if MM thinks Seaden should start, the knock on effect of that decision would be no sub keeper on the bench or a schoolkid.

Exactly, if he does well then we could look at signing him in the summer. I much prefer this option to signing some kid with no experience from a Championship club like we did with Gunnarson last season.
