Could Leicester City "do" the unbelievable?

I'm glad I bet on them at 35/1 when I did. They're now 2/1 to win it. You have to say they're favourites now after the weekend. City are too weak at the back without Kompany and rely on Aguero too heavily for goals, especially with De Bruyne injured. I can't see Spurs winning it although they'd had a great season by their standards. I would've said Arsenal a month or two ago but they seem to be doing their usual February/March bottle-job and I can't see them making up the points difference although I think they'll come second.

It would definitely be the greatest Premier League story if Leicester did win it, when you consider where they were last season. Yes Vardy and Mahrez have played a huge part but they also have a very good goalkeeper, two solid experienced centre-backs, and other good players in the likes of Albrighton, Drinkwater. They also seem to have a fantastic team spirit - proof that money can't buy everything.

I am stunned shocked and bewildered,I thought ESB with his magnificent knowledge of the game plus his array of coaching badges would at least be doing his thing in the Ryman earning £150 a week.

Instead he coaches a girls team:hilarious:

Come on mrsblue, you must've already known that. After all, you know "exactly who I am" and so does your "husband". Was that not the case then? Because if it's not, I need not be as "careful" as you advised I be.

Anyway, back on topic, Ranieri's been giving some interesting insight into the turnaround at Leicester in the press this week, accrediting it more to simple tactics and more flexible training sessions.

Husband? :hilarious:

Well it is legal these days.

As for Leicester, they are doing very well, but I still think they will fall short. and next season be midtable at best. The result against City was fantastic though and certainly justifies them being considered contenders.

Going back to the initial topic, I fancy Spurs to nick it on 1 point and goal difference on the last game of the season.

Leicester's last game is Chelsea away. If they've nothing to play for, Leicester have got that in the bag even if Chelsea don't roll over to prevent Spurs from getting one under their belt.

Agreed,

Claudio treats the players as adults and trusts them to behave in the correct way, over coaching as I told you some time back is never good.

I love you ESB:facepalm:

Vardy apologised for using a racist slur in a disgusting way. I think plenty of people care.

The PC brigade forced him to apologise,I suppose people like you wanted Terry hung drawn and quartered.

Besides I thought the other person was cheating at cards?

Keep it on topic.

Believe what you want about Vardy - he apologised in public for letting himself and the club down and it's pretty clear to me that Ranieri doesn't go around 'trusting his players' and 'treating them like adults' because a couple of months into his tenure Vardy was filmed racially abusing a member of the public. And that was on the back of the pretty disgusting Thai orgy revelation.

However, Ranieri does seem to have a good rapport with his players, I'll agree.

Thai orgy thing was when Pearson was gaffer!

Using the term Jap is hardly disgusting though is it,personally the guy should not have been trying to look at Vardy's cards as it was high stakes.

I didn't say it wasn't. I was saying that when Ranieri came in, it was on the back of that 'scandal' (if you want to call it that) and then two months later or whatever Vardy was caught at the casino. My guess is that Ranieri has been a supportive person to Vardy (and other members of the team) but that doesn't mean treating them like adults or trusting them, just getting them to focus on their football and the Euros and Vardy has clearly done that.

Vardy went to the casino playing high stakes poker,I don't know if he was losing big money or indeed winning, what I do know is no poker player wants anybody trying to look at his hand, you make Vardy out to be some kind of nutter!

Ranieri placed his trust with his players and apart from one overblown stitched up incident, they have repaid his trust.

Whether someone was looking at his hand or not, that doesn't excuse him from using racist slurs.

I don't go to casinos very much, but you can watch a table of poker even if you're not playing, and even if you see someone's hand it doesn't mean anything as long as you don't start telling other people.

(Sigh)

But anyway, can Leicester win the League? Only two defeats all season up to this point so, despite it being in my financial interest for Man City to win it, I will say....yes. They'll do it. Plus I want my Leicester mate Paul to have to keep this promise. ('Harrow All' being an email group seen by approx. 1,400 Ladbrokes employees.)

I have played at Westcliff and The Hippo, true the stakes were small but I have never felt the urge to spectate other hands when I'm out or indeed noticed anyone else standing behind players.

Poker etiquette!

The racial slur as you put it was IMO somebody rather annoyed whilst drunk spitting out the first thing entering his mind.

Back on topic,

City have been brilliant, their game plan is at times pure genius but oh do simple.

Hope they win the league, but I fancy Spurs or Arsenal to nick it.

Why do people from Leicester have such a problem with people from Japan
