Croydon Athletic The Fall Guys In Pakistan Spot Fixing Scandal

Surely it's plain to see?
I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned on here but it looks like Ryman Premier League side Croydon Athletic will soon become defunct.

In the course of HMRC investigations into Mahzar Majeed, the bookmaker at the centre of the Pakistan spot fixing scandal, it was found that since he bought the club in 2008 he had used it for money laundering purposes.

The club has been thrown out of the FA Cup and the Ryman League has suspended them for the time being to see if any new investors can be found to save the club, although prospects look somewhat bleak.

In the meantime the management have left and there's also been what the club's website has described as a "player exodus", with Billericay Town among the beneficiaries of it. To rub salt into the playing and managerial staff's wounds, their August pay cheques bounced.

Their last game was a 1-3 home defeat to Concord Rangers, which would be an ironic twist, to see Rangers first ever win at this level expunged from the record books.

If things like this happen at Step 3 level, just what goes on further up the leagues? ......
