In the last couple of months this site has become overloaded with people thinking they are the funniest people in the world creating and joining pointless groups, it really gets on my nerves its not clever or funny its so boring now. Groups like lets see if this sausage roll can get more fans than cheryl cole (replace with any famous person...) maybe I'm just a miserable prick but how is necessary or funny?! Another type that makes me want to put my face through my pc screen is the groups like, I watched Eastenders live (19/2/10) or i was the in the great snow of december 2009. None of this is special or worth telling people about it just makes you look like a boring over excitable ****. Facebook used to be easy to defend as a good place to socialise and keep in touch with friends now its becoming increasingly more like a place for self indulgent tossers to count how many people have joined their hilarious obvservations on life.
Rant over.

Don't look at it then. Simple!

Or...

Start your own network with ning.com might be more to your taste. You can mod' it yourself.

Facebook has always struck me as a place where people just try and make their lives sound more interesting than they really are, and find it of huge importance to inform others of mundane things they are doing in their lives.

It is just a fad. like everything else, and do what i do, don't have an account and ring up your mates or actually see them in person!

I didn't really use Facebook before I moved away but now find it invaluable for keeping in touch with people. Through it I still feel like I know what's going on in the life's of friends and family.

However you do have to wade through a fair bit of crap first, I agree there.
