Don't mind Tigerlillys in Leigh, pretty chilled in there but find Vie Bar et al a bit too pretentious, full of douche bags and about as shallow as a puddle.

Haven't really got a favourite watering hole in town that I'd rank head and shoulders above the others. Don't mind 29 for a pre-club drink.

I avoid central Southend wherever possible, due to the number of d!ckheads you usually find in these places.

If I go to a pub, its usually the Golden Lion in Rochford. Thats due to their Ales & most importantly as I know a lot of the regulars & licensees! I normally drink in the TEAC on the seafront as its local & I know most of the people in there & they serve decent Ale! Spooted a theme yet!!!

My Uncle & Aunt are members/regulars at the TEAC.

anyone tried bar 29, on southchurch road (near honky tonk music)
now open till 1am on friday & saturday nights
seen a few sufc players in there in the past too
 
Reading some of these post I am sniggering at some of the names pubs are called these days.
"The slug and Lettuce" has got to be one of the funniest I have heard.

The Crooked Billet > followed by a curry at The Taj Mahal.

The Boston > followed by a scrap on Chalkwell Beach.

Porters > followed by a fish supper from Westborough Fish House.

The Smack > before it got done up and became poncy; i.e. when it had the scarey Helen on the door!
