Always room for a little humour in these threads.

I did an interview with Mike Lapper for ShrimperZone back in 2003; click here.

It was at Norwich, Boxing Day 1995!

Always remember that day for a number of reasons: -
We won 1-0
Lapper breaking his leg
The blizzard towards the end of the game
Huge Norwich "Chase Out" protests with 4,000 Shrimpers joining in to extract the urine. Plus we outshouted them for most of the game.

Can't remember if Spinner was playing for Norwich though.

And Martin Margetson is welsh
Anton Outolowski was my hero!

Back then foreign players were actually a novelty too.

My old man once attended a conference that included Anton Otulakowski's brother, who was amazed that someone could spell and pronounce his surname correctly until my dad revealed he was from Southend. Anton was actually born in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

I wake up this morning and listen to the Ashes TMS commentary.  I then come in to work, and read the full horror of what has been going on in Brisbane.  I then see lots of moronic threads on here about how the club supposedly has no ambition (is it me, or has there been a collective bout of amnesia as to what happened at this club between 1997 and 2003?).

But this, sir... this takes the biscuit.  You're suggesting that he was decent, rather than a leech who almost drained this club dry and who barely broke f***ing sweat for his £3,500 a f***ing week.  Decent?!  In terms of money spent for return gained, the Eyeing Dutchman is the worst investment and the least decent player this club has ever had.

I shall take myself to a quiet room and have a large rant.

Yours, aiming to make this board a Boere-free zone.

Another good call - beginning to sound like the Life of Brian - apart from Sean Goater, Efe Sodje and the roads - what have foreigners ever done for us!!!
Efe was born in Greenwich, which doesn't make him terribly foreign so far as I can tell...

Not now, Michael. Not now. One should never kick a man when he's down.
