I understand the contractors are the world class "Bodget and Dodget" their CEO is Bob the builder.

Make of that what you will.

Didn't I read somewhere that members of the said planning committee were even more sceptical of the project going ahead than the most sceptical on here! There again, given a choice between believing what Southend Town Council says and does what Ron says and does, which do you choose??? Having said all that I DO believe it will happen.............surely it's Sainsbury's that is the most important element in the equation

Then 22k max will be fine. Truthfully, if I ever get to see Southend in the Prem with a gate of 21560 (98%), I will be heaven. If it takes as long as I think it could to achieve that target, I could be in heaven anyway!

I remember reading that Kevin Maher couldn't wait to lead the lads out in the new stadium, and then into town to draw his pension out.

Nice one Smiffy cheers. About as 'official' as it's going to get. However if the west stand/hotel requires a separate application then it could drag on indefinitely. It's obviously in the interest to build it ASAP because it will provide a lot of revenue.

The positive is that it confirms that they can't move onto the retail park and flats until the main stand has started.

Does it actually say that?

Not that I have seen. Unless Beefy has found some other info?

It's just a rough build timescale, which is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
