Freddy tantrum

keefmoon

Coach
There may be another thread on this somewhere but I can't be bothered to trawl, and couldn't bring myself to come on here til this afternoon.

Did anyone else notice Freddy storming down the tunnel straight after the final whistle had gone on Saturday?
Now I like the guy, don't get me wrong, but when we travel the length and breadth of the country to watch that shower of ****, the least I expect in return (the LEAST) is for the players to actually acknowledge us as a group of people to cheer them on, and maybe, just maybe, clap us a couple of times. To say thanks, like.
Not storm down the tunnel in a huff just cos you got subbed (and he got subbed because he was utter rubbish by the way). It really was 12 year old stuff.

I am not going to slag him off personally on here and go on about how much of a tosser he is, because I don't think he is, and he has obviously worked wonders on the pitch the last few years, but I'm not sure that gives him the right to behave like a spoilt kid, and pansy around the pitch for 90 minutes because he knows he's leaving in a month or 2. Southend, and indirectly, us, are still paying his wages after all.
Rant over.

Again this is all heresay as I wasn't there but maybe again this proves that Tilly & Brush have now reached the end of the road with Fred, they're both normally keen on the team showing the fans some level of appreciation, especially on long away trips, even if we lose.

I remember Brushy telling Constantine to clap the fans at Carlisle (he didn't particularly want to celebrate despite scoring 2 goals that day) and presume the mood Freddy was in, it just wasn't worth persuing!

Oh well, another nail in the coffin.........

well everyone loves writing about Freddy and watching the best player we have got but when there is nothing left to say you can end up saying nothing -

i reckon he probabley just hates losing ........

AND i reckon he loves playing for southend as much as we love watching him -

One day people are slating him for not caring about the club, the next slating him because he is so bitterly disappointed at not being able to help us stay up.

Jon Toshack was at the game so he was probably annoyed at having had (from his perspective) his chance to break into the Wales squad taken away from him. He was probably also feeling the same mixture of frustration and disappointment that we're all becoming very used to.

Or maybe its being replaced by Matt Harrold that ****ed him of , It would me!!!!!

:hilarious:

6 months ago it would've been more of an issue but lets be honest he's off very shortly so meh. Lets give him a good send off in his last home game eh? :)

i may of said a lot about fred not doing much this season which he has but will someone please tell me what matt harrold can do that fred cant. apart from standing there like a complete idiot with his thumb up his ****.

Tilly and Brush were disappointed at not being able to help us stay up, but I still saw them come over to say thankyou. It's the little things that matter I guess.

To me, Freddy Discussing that he doesn't want to get subbed, can only be a good thing for me? It sounded like he was having a good game and wanted to play on...lets hope he stays...

Yeah, Id agree with that 100%.

I would have been more dissapointed if he had of been subbed off and wasnt in the slightest bit bothered - whether or not it was for personal reasons or genuinely wanting to help us stay up, at least he showed he cared. Perhaps he didnt go the right way about it, but that kind of reaction certainly shows the guy cares about what happens on a football pitch/

Exactly! I think he wanted to carry on and help Southend. Whilst he was on - we sounded a lot more dangerous. After he went off, we seemed to go defensive and it was inevitable they were going to score!

Have to say, I do like the sound of him not being happy at being subbed, to be honest - to me it showed he cared.
