Just copied this from the Official Site. If you are approached anywhere but the "Family Areas" by the stewards with regards to swearing then refer them to Mr G King.

"Southend United have signed up to the Football League's 'Enjoy the Match' campaign this season.

The Football League is encouraging supporters this year to behave in a proper manner within family areas at football stadiums up and down the country.

A code of conduct has been introduced, whilst logos, signs and stickers will adorn Roots Hall from Saturday.

Each participating club will also play a pre-recorded message prior to kick-off over the tannoy to remind supporters to respect those around them.

Blues chief executive Geoffrey King told southendunited.co.uk: "We pride ourselves on being a family club with a friendly atmosphere.

"We want to encourage as many families along to Roots Hall as possible by ensuring them they will have happy environment to enjoy the game."

In the absence of swearing & in the (unlikely) event we play badly at any point this season will Mr G King supplying crates of rotten fruit by the turnstiles - to be collected as we enter the ground.

The thought of Matt Harrold with stagnant Mango dripping down his ginger countenance after a particularly bad miss is too promising to miss...
(Sorry Matt, tongue firmly in cheek with that one)

Could not have picked a better game for the non-swearing initiative.
Judas returns with Peterborough and Bailey making himself so popular with the supporters.

Is this suggesting that swearing is not going to be tolerated in ANY part of the ground? If this is the case i will spend most of the season watching from the Spread Eagle

think it's only the family area.

So I think you're safe as long as your not in the Famly Enclosure. Though, on past experience, I don't think this is going to work, IMO.

Note also that we are told to reffer any stewards to G King. I think this would be a case of Geoff telling the stewards that we are allowed to voice our opinion in such a way, just not in the Family Enclosure.
