Malcolm Clarke, Chairman of the Football Supporters' Federation said:

"The FSF is disappointed that, yet again, those running football have not consulted supporters about a proposed major change to the game, as plans to reduce the number of clubs promoted and relegated each season are to be tabled at the Football League AGM in June.

"A few football clubs are starting to recognise the importance of consulting and involving their supporters and it's high time the rest of the game followed suit. Sooner or later the fans who support their club week-in, week-out, and who ultimately pay football's wages will have to be brought in out of the cold.

"The FSF will discuss the issue at this year's Fans' Parliament, where I expect supporters to be very angry about being ignored. The authorities may not have asked us for our views, but our Parliament will tell them nevertheless."

Any views?

Yes - very surprised. I didn't know anything about this! Was I the only one in the dark about this?

Presumably, the Premier League only wants two up & two down, so that it can protect its own cartel and keep all the money slushing around a handful of clubs.

If so... bloody hell, it would make the Premiership boring. Only 3 clubs capable of winning it, only 2 clubs capable of going down, and 15 clubs squabbling over one champions league place.

Pathetic.

My views? They should come and watch Southend instead - far more real and interesting.

Yes, looking out of the window, I can see the building opposite mine, backdropped with grey clouds that are hinting at rain. Not a good view, I think you'll agree.

You think? I don't think so, and I know many on here would agree.

Discuss.

Bit optimistic, aren't you? Bet you think SUFC will be in the premiership with 3 years.

Yes, and that FF will make the club profitable again.

Depends if it has a casino or not... And a large bar, catering for lots of thirsty footy fans!

As we've seen this season, turning a small operating profit is not beyond this club of ours...

I reckon not, else you would be banned by your own organisation.

As it goes, I have two views...

First the one through my window.  In spite of being at work, I have a lovely view across grassy hills, trees and a lake with rabbits and ducks playing in the sun.  Beyond that, the Motorway.

Secondly, I think that is a terrible idea for relegations and promotions.  All they will accomplish is the same problem that we started getting with the conference where some conference teams were much better than most of the third (e.g. Rushden, Doncaster, Yeovil).  Is this something our friend Sepp suggested?

More greedy elitist ****s trying to avoid the Leeds experience.
Brilliant idea really, lets try and make a sterile, uncompetitive league even duller...! I'm sure the SPL could give them a tip or two about how to commit footballing suicide.

I truly hate the EPL

As far as im concerned ,and i view it from the other side of the world, i would rather watch a competitive league such as where Southend are and the leagues up to Championship than the premier league, maybe the football isnt as skillfull or the players as good, the sooner teams like MAN U, CHELSEA MAN CTY go and formm their own European league with the likes of barthalona, unreal madrid,, the 2 milan clubs and mucking gladbag the better, oh they can take Celtic with them also.
