Good result. However, I do hope when we do eventually make some signings it isn’t just more of the same to make up numbers. We need a bit better than we have already to make sure we don’t spend years getting out of this league. I respect what these clubs achieve with 1,000 supporters but please can we get back to Sunderland away at the Stadium of Light rather than Gateshead away at an obsolete athletics track.
 
Top quality point today. Thought we were going to get battered. I think after about 20 mins we stopped the high press, and let them have the ball at the back, and sat back and defended deeper.

This forced them to go a bit longer on occasions as the space wasn’t being created by players being higher up the pitch pressing.

Whether this was deliberate or not I have no idea, but the game was a lot more even then, although I was still expecting to come away empty handed.

Amazed at this squad!
