James Lawson

Agree with most of whats been written about the lad. However, cant agree that he should now be part of the prefered starting line-up. His biggest weakness that hasn,t been mentioned yet appears to be lack of real pace. Consiquently, with him and goater together the option of running at defenders seems a bit limited, therefore we need other players to provide the service to them at all times. Were as, either of those two combined with freddie or wayne gives a bit more inter action between the strike partners and perhaps puts more pressure on defenders. Prime example being the third goal. But hey, what do i know! bl00die first time posters and all that.

Tell you what though this thread is a novelty ....... its about what happens ON the pitch !!!!! it'll never last . Ive been very impressed by Lawsons touch and movement and it must be a huge boost for the rest of the youth team to see someone going thru the ranks like this. Surprised he started v Tranmere but VERY surprised to see him be moved to left of midfield later in the game , especially when there were 2 " specialist " midfeilders on bench in Bentley and Jay Smith !!! Wonder what they made of it ??

To be fair, throughout his time during the Youth Team I have known him as a wide man that can play as a centre forward. Even on the Football Manager 2006 demo, his a wide midfielder.
