Is a move for Jake McCarthy back on the cards?
I don't think so.
He's recently changed his agent (now with Kevin Davies ex Bolton striker) so I've lost my contact unfortunately.

At least signing him would mean he isn't playing against us and so can't get is standard goal. I always think back to that absolute screamer he scored for Barnet in front of the north bank.
At one level you have to feel sorry for Ricky H. He developed a major back problem while working on a Horsham building site during non league days with Chelmsford City, which subsequently has significantly dogged his career.
In fact, so much so that he could not play for 16 months with Sheffield United and continued to struggle with the severity of the problem at Barnet, Portsmouth, Northampton, Charlton Oxford and Gillingham
Last May he revealed he was to retire having revealed 10 years of graft with his back, finally getting the better of him. He tried with a last day transfer deal with Gillingham previously in January 2019 , despite being injured, to regain fitness, but couldn’t manage it, and sadly failed after 3 months and made no appearacies.
An operation to shave bulging discs in the left side of the back initially helped as did injections, but then the same problem happened down the right hand side. Gradually the injections were having less effect
Last summer with a new baby he revealed he didn’t want to risk not playing in the park with his kids when he was forty, however he returned to Northampton in an attempt to regain fitness and played 9 times on a play as you go contract
You left out the bit about him going back to a leading specialist who they believe has "fixed" the problem and hence him changing his decision and playing again. Without this he would have stayed retired. Somewhat relevant as is the comment from the manager/club below:At one level you have to feel sorry for Ricky H. Some talk of it being Hackett-Fairchild.
No, it's his fair child not his love child. Please tell me he's Keith Hackett's love child?

looks decent enough.
Drew Broughton could look good on Youtube.

It seems an MM requirement that forwards be pretty swift.Agreed. These show reels don't really prove much. The only thing I gleaned from that was that he seems to be pretty fast.
