These threads voting for the worst player's who have worn our beloved blue leave a bad taste.

Those very same player's or even their children or grandchildren could well be reading people's views.

I have avoided them like the plague, might be fun for some.

Sorry if this offends anyone.

As I said on one of the Worst Player threads I think some on SZ get confused when things are going well on the pitch and have to bring the whole place down. Mrs B I agree with you....there I said it.

Whilst at work Rob did you suffer being called all manner of names?,did drunken blokes openly ridicule you?

Couple of games ago we existed the boxes and Deegan was standing near the players entrance,a fan actually pulled his beard!

Bizarre stuff.

Police and Nurses are sadly !

The abusers are open to arrest!

Fan on the terrace can scream at any player "you useless .... I effing hate you and hope you effing die and if I see you outside I'm gonna have you"...without fear of arrest in most circumstances.

I'm not being argumentative, but its irrelevant. These people also put their lives on the line as well (regardless of the repercussions to the other party).

If I was good enough to play football professionally, I wouldn't care what people are screaming from the terraces, nor would I be surprised. As some alluded to , players know exactly what they are facing when they run out on the pitch. Think of the terrible abuse Beckham got after the world cup, yet he was so strong willed and determined that he won back the same nation that used to hang effigies up of him. A footballer loves their life, for all the pitfalls that come with it.

Maybe the odd arrest for that would start a decline. Doesn't the Public Order Act cover this (section 5 I believe).
