It would appear that apart from the obvious Vikings , Romans , Normans angle (scuse the pun) on Britain always being a nation of immigrants , it would appear that it has been regular since the Normans .

Exactly, though I really meant as an individual you are pushed out of someone's body and landing in a country - no choice involved in that and no valid claim that 'this is now mine'.

Football or like-minded individuals? Do you think these individuals display such attitudes only in and around a game of football and after a cocktail of drugs and booze? Some possibly, but I would suggest that it is society that has a long way to go - not football.

Immigration and invasion are two very different things (despite some parties like to paint it).
I'm not sure what you are pulling me up on? If I lived when the Vikings or Romans invaded I would moan about them on football forums.

I guess the difference would be those that came to conquer (Vikings/Romans) to those who came to settle due to such things as religious intolerance (Jews/Hugenots).

Mob mentality is a very real thing, and it's been documented that the most placid, tolerant and peaceful person can turn into a rabid, crazed eyed killer. It's one of the reasons why Nazism took ahold in Germany.

I really accepted his information but was actually coming at it from a different angle but if you want me to comment more on his link I would say that the Romans etc invaded but in terms of the concept of arrivals on this turf then people have been arriving forever but just in different formats.

Here is the problem for me, I am all for accepting, appreciating and socialising with every form of human race. But I do not need to be told to do this or forced to do this. I do it out of choice. I'm not non-racist because it's PC to be this way, I am this because I want to be.
