Loanee Watch 2019/20

Michael Klass was booked as a 79th minute sub in Bromley's 2-1 home defeat to Barrow. He came on with them 2-0 down and they pulled one back whilst he was on the pitch but not enough to stay top.

Dartford were in FA Cup action so no Howard for them again.

Harlow Town won 2-1 away at Ashford (the Middlesex rather than K*nt one) where Matt Rush scored another last minute winner. All three loaness started but Miles Mitchell-Nelson was subbed on 71 minutes. He'd been booked on 49 minutes. Terrell Egbri, pictured double tea-potting below with the unfortunate watermark resembling a sexist apron, was also booked.

It looks like Matt Rush was on the end of some rough stuff

Finally, another booking, this time for Theo Robinson who played 90 minutes against what must have been a very poor Crawley side as even Franck Nouble scored against them.

Crawley we’re actually Stevenage who are so poor even we beat them in August. Michael Timlin played 85 mins for Stevenage.

More loan activity

Jon Benton has joined Wakering on loan. Wakering are 7th in Isthmian League North.

He may have made his debut Saturday their twitter suggests a Jon Benson came on after 55 minutes (they were 4-0 down at the time and ended up losing 4-1)

Tom Clifford is set to join a local National League South side (Chelmsford/Concord/Billericay/Braintree/Dartford?)

Current loanees

Level 4
Theo Robinson - Col Ewe

Level 5 (Conference)
Michael Klass - Bromley

Level 6 (Conference South)
Rob Howard - Dartford
Tom Clifford - ????

Level 8
Terrell Egbri, Miles Mitchell-Nelson, Matt Rush - Harlow
Jon Benton - Great Wakering Rovers

Thought the idea of a loan was to give players more experience, so what's the point of Klass warning Bromley's sub bench and only playing very little game time.

How is that not a kit clash?

There are a couple more U23s out on loan at the moment: defenders Zak Pianim and Ide Osimeh are at Isthmian League North Division Brentwood Town (also home to former Blues youngsters Jack Edwards, Marcus Milner, Abdul Salami, Jacob Wiggins and Jason Williams, plus Academy coach Ryan O'Rawe, who is first-team manager at the Brentwood Centre Arena).

Here's Zak scoring a penalty on Saturday in the Blues' first league win of the season against AFC Sudbury, with Ide a late substitute in the 3-1 triumph:

Bizarrely I was at that game...

Matt Rush scored a hat-trick tonight for Harlow

View attachment 9327

Miles Mitchell-Nelson captained Harlow and Terrell Egbri also played in their 2nd Tollehurst D'Arcy Memorial Cup win over Tiptree.

Elsewhere Ide Osimeh and Zac Pianim both played in Brentwood's 3-1 defeat at Romford.

Michael Klass was a half-time sub as Bromley went onto win 2-1 following his introduction.

Neither Great Wakering nor Dartford were in action.

I hear Pianim is nothing special, but let's hope this is proved wrong. From what I have seen and heard of Rush there is a tricky and interesting player there.

I didn't really notice Pianim in truth, as a defender that's not necessarily a bad thing though!

Level 5
Michael Klass made a rare start for Bromley at Solihull but it didn’t go well and he was subbed off just before the hour with Bromley 2-0 down, although they later pulled one back.

Level 6
Rob Howard played as Dartford won 1-0 at Oxford City.

Tom Clifford made his Concord debut at home to Chipppenham as Concord lost 1-0 to a late penalty.

Level 7
O’Shane Stewart has joined Margate. An O’Shane started in their 1-0 defeat at Ricky Otto’s old club Haringey Borough so they are either very familiar with him already or have a near namesake.

Level 8
Harlow weren’t in action which was just as well as two of their regulars were in the bench at Roots Hall. Neither Matt Rush nor Terrell Egbri were given a debut though with Waddock bizarrely preferring to take off the only youth team product playing for us instead of bringing one on.

Jon Benton made his full debut for Great Wakering in an eventful match. Great Wakering pulled it back to 3-2 with an 85th minute penalty but had someone sent off in the 89th minute and Westfield scored two goals in injury time before Benton capped his full debut with the third goal of injury time.

Zac Pianim played in Brentwood’s 3-2 defeat at home to Basildon. No Ide Osimeh for Brentwood.

Once again SZ providing the official site with its content!

https://www.southendunited.co.uk/news/2019/october/loan-watch-12th-october/

I might have provided the inspiration but I'm pretty sure that's @Exiled Shrimper 's perspiration.

With all the loanees currently out it took me a lot longer to look up than it use to only to later find out that the excellent @sufcyouth twitter account had beaten me to it!

Well done the club though, this is the type of content they should be providing:Clap:.

And if you aren't already following @sufcyouth then you should.

Thanks for all these updates and its great to see that finally we are loaning out a lot of our young players to gain experience playing against men .

Sam Knock joins Isthmian League North Hullbridge on loan.

The full list of Southend players out on loan is now:

Level 42 Theo Robinson (Col Ewe)

Level 5
Michael Klass (Bromley)

Level 6
Rob Howard (Dartford)

Level 7
O'Shane Stewart (Margate)

Level 8
Matt Rush, Terrell Egbri, Miles Mitchell-Nelson (Harlow)
Jon Benton (Great Wakering)
Zac Pianim and Ide Osimeh (Brentwood)

I expect Eren Kinali will be out on loan soon as well.

Level 6
Tom Clifford started for Concord against Hungerford Town in the Conference South. Concord lost 2-0 to two second half goals.

Level 7
O’shane Stewart scored Margate’s goal in their 2-1 FA Cup defeat at Oxford City.

Level8
Matt Rush, Miles Mitchell-Nelson and Terrell Egbri all started in Harlow’s Isthmian South Central 3-2 win against Chipstead. Matt Rush scored Harlow’s second goal from the spot and Egbri was booked.

Sam Knock made his debut for Isthmian North Hullbridge playing the full 90 minutes at Dereham in a 1-1 draw.

Jon Benton started for Great Wakering in their Isthmian North League match against Grays and scored Wakering’s second goal on 42 minutes. He was subbed on 62 minutes with Wakering 2-0 up. The game finished 3-1.

Zac Pianim started for Isthmian North Brentwood at Cambridge City. Brentwood won 3-2.

No Rob Howard or Michael Klass for their sides FA Cup matches and they remain available for our Wembley appearances in the competition next year.
