Loanee Watch 2021-22

Another clean sheet for Josh Coulson as King’s Lynn drew 0-0 at home to Woking in the NL.

No Tayo Adedoja for Bowers who won 3-1 for their first home win in 8.

Ollie Coker (suspension?) and Brian Garzon missed out for East Thurrock too. East Thurrock only lost 1-0.

In the Isthmian North Jimmy Wallace was in action for Witham against Coggeshall Town. He was booked on 82 minutes before Coggeshall scored an injury time equaliser in a 1-1 draw. Witham stay 17th, their hosts 13th.

Tendi Quamini got the start for Walthamstow at Hoddesdon Town in the Errington Cup (Hoddeston, Hoddeston Town and the Errington Cup are all new to me) and scored with a volley. Walthamstow made it two from his surging run down the right and cut back to the edge of the box. But following an off the altercation the Stow went down to 10 men and the hosts fought back to win 4-2.

Level 5
No clean sheet for Josh Coulson. Two goals in 5 minutes around the half hour mark put Torquay in control before Kings Lynn pulled one back just before half-time. Torquay made it 3 and although Kings Lynn pulled one back again it finished 3-2.

Level 6
Tommy Davis started for Spud’s Welling against Bath City who had ex-loanee Ryan Clarke in goal. Clarke, who is 40 next month and played alongside current Blues boss Kevin Maher, might have made his one appearance for us before Davis was born. It ended 1-1.

Matt Rush was on the bench for Chelmsford against Eastbourne the day after his 21st birthday. He came on on 74 minutes with Chelmsford looking for the first goal of the game but it was Eastbourne who scored the only goal.

ANG appears to be still injured although his loan was due to expire so one to keep an eye on.

Level 7
Isthmian Prem
Oli Coker was back in the East Thurrock line-up following suspension for their game with Kingstonian. No Brian Garzon. Coker played 73 minutes before being subbed with the score 1-1. Second bottom East Thurrock stunned the 10th placed visitors by grabbing an 84th minute winner.

Reiss Chandler wasn’t on the bench for Bishop’s Stortford after making it last match. They didn’t miss him in a 6-0 win.

Tayo Adedoja was on the bench for Bowers at home to Folkestone in a 3-2 defeat.

Southern League Premier South
No Rob Howard for Farnborough but Terrell Egbri was on the bench for their trip to Yate Town. Farnborough won 2-0

Hendon weren’t in action.

John White’s 22nd placed Wimborne were at 21st placed Merthyr Tydfil. No team news but the bottom side lost 2-0, with White heading for his 3rd relegation in 3 seasons.

Level 8
Isthmian North
Jimmy Wallace was at the heart of the Witham defence for their game at Felixstowe and Walton. I believe Tommy Lambourne is still injured. Wallace couldn’t quite keep a clean sheet with Witham conceding with 10 minutes left. Witham stay 17th, their oppenents stay level on points with 5th and the last play-off spot.

Luke Reeve, Jaden Crowhurst and Louis Arrowsmith all started for Great Wakering against struggling Romford and they got of to a great start when Crowhurst won the ball and then scored from 25 yards out. Former Blues youth Alex Clark scored their 3rd just before ht. Goalscorer Crowhurst was subbed on the hour mark. Wakering added a 4th soon after and Arrrowsmith hit the post. Reeve was subbed on 71 minutes. Wakering’s 5-0 win moves them up to 15th.

Demaray Anyadike was an 87th minute sub for Hullbridge v Tilbury in a 4-0 defeat.

Miles Mitchell-Nelson was in the starting line-up for Canvey against Basildon. On the bench was new signing O’Shane Stewart who was released by Blues a month or so ago. Canvey won 4-1 to stay top. Basildon drop to 16th.

New signings for AFC Sudbury Cam Brown and Callum Burkey both started on the bench for the visit of Tilly’s Heybridge. A win would take Heybridge above Sudbury. Cameron Brown (or Cameron Forde-Brown as he seems to be going by) came on at half-time after a goalless first half and took just 5 minutes to make an impact opening the scoring. Burkey came on with 10 minutes remaining during which time Sudbury added a second against Tilly’s men and it finished 2-0.

Jon Benton was at the heart of things once more for Aveley, having a long range shot saved, hitting a free kick over before setting up their 2nd and then scoring the third direct from a corner. He later scored their 5th with a 25 yard effort with his left peg. Aveley won 5-2 to keep up their promotion push.

Tendi Quamini’s Walthamstow were at Newham and Tendi got the second in a 2-0 win.

Loving the updates!

Just looked at the report of the Wimborne game. John White played the whole game. This was the last few lines of the report:

the experienced John White looked every inch the central defender we’ve needed all season. But this eighth successive league defeat on the road leaves us stranded at the bottom of the table. It’s not over until it’s mathematically impossible, but realistically we’re too far from safety.

Level 6
Matt Rush was on the bench again for Chelmsford for their visit to Dartford. He came on for Charlie Sherringham in the 73rd minute with them 2-1 down and down to 10 men.
No ANG for Ebbsfleet. I believe his loan is up and I don’t know if it’s been renewed as he’s injured.
No Tommy Davis for Welling in their first match since Spud was sacked. He was replaced by ex-youth teamer Taylor Curran. Think we may see him recalled to Roots Hall sooner rather than later.

Level 7
Southern Premier South
Eren Kinali was in the Hendon side to visit Ricky Otto’s old club, Haringey Borough in the London Senior Cup and scored the only goal of the game late on to send them to the final.

Level 8
Isthmian North
Reiss Chandler made his debut alongside Jon Benton for their clash v Maldon & Tiptree. This was their game in hand over Canvey and had they beaten 10th place Maldon they would have gone top. Instead it finished 0-0.

Saturday’s goal scoring hero Cameron Brown was on the bench again with Callum Burkey for AFC Sudbury’s trip to Felixstowe & Walton. Brown came on with 9 minutes remaining. That was long enough for him to get booked and for Felixstowe to pull one back. Sudbury won 2-1.

Level 9
No Tendi Quamini in the starting line-up for Walthamstow’s clash v Sawbridgeworth but he must have come on as he bundled in their third from a corner in a 3-1 win.

Level 5
Kings Lynn had an impressive 3-0 win at Mark Molesley’s Aldershot. Another clean sheet for Josh Coulson who played 90 minutes and was booked.

Level 6
NLS
Matt Rush was on the bench for Chelmsford against Welling. No Tommy Davis for Welling, I assume his loan has now ended.
Rush came on after 79 minutes with Chelmsford losing 1-0. He wasn’t able to change the outcome with the Clarets losing 1-0.

Level 7
Southern League Prem South
Eren Kinali was in the Hendon team for their match at home to Yate. He couldn’t help them slumping to a 2-1 defeat.

Rob Howard and Terrell Egbri were on the bench for Farnborough who were home to Weston-Super-Mare. Without them they drew 1-1 and fall 3 points off the lead but have games in hand over the others.

John White was in the Wimborne side alongside 37 year old Scott Arnold. It’s believed to be the oldest central defensive partnership in Southern League history. It didn’t work as they slumped to a 4-1 defeat to Hayes & Yeading after being given the run-around by the relative youngster, 32 year old Moses Emmanuel, who scored a hattrick.

Isthmian Prem
Oli Coker was in the East Thurrock side who were at Leatherhead in a clash of the bottom two. He played 70 minutes before being subbed with the score 1-1. After his substitution Thurrock conceded a further 2 and fell to a 3-1 defeat.

Level 8
Isthmian North
Jimmy Wallace was in the Witham side who took on Grays Athletic. After trailing 1-0 at half-time they pulled into a 3-1 lead before Freddy Eastwood’s old side pulled once back late on. 17th placed Witham held on for an impressive 3-2 away win at 4th placed Grays.

Great Wakering took on Maldon & Tiptree. Luke Reeve, Jaden Crowhurst and Arrowsmith Louis (who I assume is Louis Arrowsmith) were in their starting line-up. 15th place Wakering held out until 5 minutes before half-time. Reeve was subbed on 79 minutes. It finished 3-0 as 9th triumphed over 15th.

No Demaray Anyadike for Hullbridge. They won 2-0.

Jon Benton played for Aveley, no Reiss Chandler though. Aveley won 2-0 at 8th Felixstowe to go top.

Miles Mitchell-Nelson started at the heart of the Canvey defence. They fell behind only for sub O’Shane Stewart to score a 30 yard worldie. However 13th place Coggeshall scored again two minutes into injury time. The defeat knocks Canvey off top spot as Aveley overtake them.

Cam Brown came on as a sub after 55 minutes with AFC Sudbury trailing 1-0. They conceded a second before grabbing a late consolation. Tilbury then went up the other end and scored a third. Callum Burkey was an unused sub. It finished 3-1.

Level 9
Tendi Quamini was fouled for a penalty in Walthamstow’s 3-0 win at home to Clapton.

Level 5

Josh Coulson played in Kings Lynn’s 3-0 defeat to Stockport. They were reduced to 10 men on 60 minutes but we’re already 2-0 down.

Level 7
Southern League Prem South
John White played in Wimborne’s 4-0 defeat to Weston-Super-Mare. Wimborne were doing a pay what you afford.

Rob Howard and Terrell Egbri were both on the bench for Farnbrough as they hosted Dorchester. Farnborough won 1-0.

Isthmian Prem
Ollie Coker lined up for East Thurrock’s match v Cheshunt. Struggling Thurrock lost 2-0.

Level 8
Isthmian North
Canvey played Sudbury which saw Miles Mitchell-Nelson line up for Canvey against team-mates Cam Brown and Callum Burkey (or at least he was up against Brown when Brown came on after 70 minutes and Burkey when he came on after 89 minutes). Mitchell-Nelson hit the bar with a header from a free kick first half but Canvey needed a 92nd minute equaliser to draw 1-1. MMN was involved again as his goal bound effort was blocked on the line but it fell to a team mate to rifle it in.

Jon Benton’s Aveley were up against Basildon but drew 0-0 meaning both topsides only got a point.

Our young players on loan at another club had to be their best players to break in our first team, Benton is an prime example, he would get in ahead of Gard & Dunne etc.
