As much as i love Dawn Of The Dead and Day Of The Dead, i really can't stand his newer work Survival, Diary and Land. Proper poor spins that should never have been made IMO.

Decent shout though, just for Dawn and Day alone. Quality movies.

Can't believe no-one has opted for Sam Raimi, who has directed/produced some quality films; Evil Dead Trilogy, Spiderman Trilogy, 30 Days of Night,
The Grudge.

And i should add, he's currently involved in Spiderman 4 and Evil Dead 4

DOnt forget the original "Night of the Living Dead", a true genre defining film. But yes his recent films arent that great but then its hard to do much more with zombies that he hasnt done already.

Totally forgot about Raimi, love the Evil Dead trilogy, is he really doing a 4th?
In my opinion the last Spiderman was way too long and dull.

Wow, this is tough.

For me it's between Sam Mendes and Ridley Scott.

Put me down for defending Ridley Scott. Alien, Bladerunner, Thelma and Louise, Hannibal, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down.

Won't win, but his truly a great director.

Yep, Evil Dead IV. It's only in the preliminary stages ATM, but hopefully we'll see something by 2011/12 time. Also, just in case you were wondering, yes, Bruce Campbell is attached to star. Wouldn't be the same without Ash.

Also Spiderman 4 is in the works and is planned for, again, a 2011/12 release. The early rumours are that his foe this time will be The Kingpin...

I'll go with Tim Burton

Good choice.

Well as Bobby changed his mind, I will take Kevin Smith.

Nice One.

My only concern in nominating Kubrick was that Kevin Smith wouldn't get nominated.

Now we just need someone to nominate Michel Gondry...
(incidentally he's directing the new film version of The Green Hornet which will star Seth Rogan!)
