Crewe 3-4 Sarfend, two great attacks and two shocking defences. Far from the best game but never dull & 8 lads there on a stag weekend, good times

Beating Chesterfield 4-3 in our title-winning season (thanks to a hat trick and awesome performance from Freddy), and the 5-2 win at Northampton 2 seasons ago when Bilel came on and changed the game. Great mental away days, the kind that make you appreciate supporting a lower league team.

I remember two seasons ago away at Wimbledon. Missed a penalty and they went on the attack to score. Then thrashed them 4-1. Their fans had given Ryan Hall stick all game and then he scores. Made all the more better the fact that I could walk home.

Doncaster 5-0 Southend?
Never seen an atmosphere like it!

Not Southampton away? Bazza (Adam) scored after just becoming a new dad, and then we capitulated. Alan Ball had recently died, and the whole game was a mass love in, and then we were escorted out of Southampton with ringing applause at every turn.

Don't want to be picky but Mike North was Mansfield. Great thread. Remember the Newport game very well. Picky YB wants league otherwise I'd have mentioned our joint biggest win in front of arguably one of our smallest ever crowds for a competitive game. Oh I just have.

Keep these coming

Home v Port Vale in our 4th division championship season 1981. I think it was the first home game of the season. We were 5-0 up and then Port Vale scored just before half time to make it 5-1. Having supported the Blues since 1969 I had never seen them score more than 5 (still haven't - I've always missed it) and was convinced this would be the day; I joked with my mate "The 2nd half will probably be goalless" and it bloody well was.

Does anyone remember a game at Griffin Park against Brentford, probably in the 60's when Gary Moore scored a "goal" that was disallowed? The ball went into the net but came out the other side due to a hole in the net! I think we lost 2-1 on the night! There was a photo in the local paper afterwards showing the hole in the netting.

Beating Wigan 3-2, not sure what year. We were 2 nil down at half time, 1 of them a Gatting own goal, and pretty rubbish with it but scored 3 times in last 20 minutes, 2 of them absolute pearlers from Crown and Ling. The other was a Donut penalty. I remember the groans as he stepped as he'd skyed 1 over the bar a few days earlier in a friendly against some obscure Icelandic team. It is undoubtedly my fave ever Shrimpers match and probably ensured my undying love for the team!

Absolutely this, I remember that game like it was yesterday. Crown's goal was a stunner; God I loved that man.

Our adventures in the now defunct Anglo-Italian Cup had some memorable games:

1993

Lost 3-0 away to Fiorentina and Battigoal (Batistuta)
Won 2-1 away to Cosenza - our only away win in a competitive European competition?

What I love about Northampton is that you can see the miserable home fans flooding home before the final whistle, silhouetted against the skyline on the road above the home end.

Away Bolton wanderers 1993 ish Tuesday night @ burnden park, won 2-0 ansah Bodley with the goals. Coach load of us doing the conga in a huge wide open terrace ..

A foggy midweek cup game back in the 80s against Aldershot; I think it was 8 nil at half time and stayed that way through to the final whistle as no-one bothered in the 2nd half. I think the competition was the predecessor to the JPT.

The score was 10-1, we best Torquay at home in the next round 7-0 after being 7 up at half-time.
